4. Assembly Instructions

Proper assembly is crucial for optimal performance and to prevent leakage. Follow these steps:

  1. Insert Duckbill Valve: Insert the raised part of the duckbill valve into the round hole at the bottom of the suction groove of the breast shield. Ensure it is securely in place.
  2. Attach Silicone Diaphragm: Place the silicone diaphragm onto the breast shield, ensuring a tight seal around the edges.
  3. Connect Milk Collector: Attach the milk collector to the assembled breast shield and diaphragm.
  4. Attach Pump Motor: Align the pump motor with the assembled milk collector and press firmly until it clicks into place.
  5. Flange Inserts (Optional): If your nipple size requires it, insert the appropriate flange insert (17mm, 19mm, or 21mm) into the 24mm silicone breast shield before assembly. Use the provided nipple ruler to determine your correct size.

6. Cleaning and Maintenance

Regular cleaning is essential for hygiene and pump longevity. Disassemble all parts that come into contact with breast milk immediately after each use.

  • Cleaning Method: Wash all components (breast shields, milk collectors, duckbill valves, silicone diaphragms) with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly with clean water. Use the provided cleaning brushes for hard-to-reach areas.
  • Drying: Allow all parts to air dry completely on a clean paper towel or drying rack.
  • Sterilization: Boil components (excluding the pump motor) for 3-5 minutes in water or use a dishwasher (top rack only) with cold water for cleaning. Ensure all parts are FDA/CE standards compliant.
  • Pump Motor Care: Do not immerse the pump motor in water. Wipe it clean with a soft, damp cloth.

7. Storing Breast Milk

Follow these guidelines for safe breast milk storage:

  • Breast Milk Storage: Only store breast milk collected from sterilized pumps. The collected milk should be placed in a clean, sterilized milk storage bag or bottle with a seal, and immediately placed in the refrigerator or freezer.
  • Cold Storage: Do not refreeze breast milk twice. Do not mix fresh milk with frozen breast milk.
  • Thawing Breast Milk: Place frozen breast milk in the refrigerator overnight to thaw. For faster thawing, place the frozen milk in a bowl of warm water. Thawed breast milk must be consumed within 24 hours.
  • Heating Breast Milk: Place the baby bottle with breast milk upright in a bowl of warm water or a food heater. Do not microwave breast milk. Always check the temperature before feeding.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • Q: Why does the breast pump leak milk?
A: Possible reasons include incorrect positioning, damaged parts, or incorrect flange size. Ensure correct measurement and flange fit. Replace any damaged duckbill valves or milk collectors.
  • Q: Why does the breast pump suck little breast milk?
A: The design principle is to initiate the action of the baby's sucking to stimulate let-down. If you feel little milk, you can apply warm compresses or massage for 3 minutes before pumping. Adjust the vacuum level gradually to find your optimal comfort.
  • Q: Can a breast pump with a lithium battery be taken on a plane?
A: Yes, although our breast pump has a built-in lithium battery, the capacity of it meets the flight safety requirements.
  • Q: Why does the breast pump have a plastic smell?
A: This is normal for environmental-friendly BPA-free PP and silicone materials. We recommend washing the pump and all parts with white vinegar or baking soda, then rinsing thoroughly.
  • Q: Why do I feel the suction of my breast pump is too low?
A: Check that all parts are installed correctly and that the breast pump is adjusted to the appropriate gear.
