4. Operating Instructions

4.1. Filling with Water

Ensure the bird bath is placed on a stable surface. Carefully fill the basin with clean water, making sure the water level covers the pump completely but does not exceed the 'Max' fill line indicated inside the basin. The fountain will activate once the pump is submerged and the solar panel receives sufficient light or the battery has a charge.

4.2. Nozzle Selection

The bird bath comes with three unique nozzles to customize the water spray pattern:

  • Gentle Shower: Ideal for small birds and a tranquil water effect.
  • Bubbler: Creates a lovely gurgling sound and a gentle water movement.
  • Multi-Stream Sprinkler: Provides a lively display to attract more attention.

To change a nozzle, gently pull off the currently installed nozzle from the pump's spout and push the desired nozzle firmly into place. Ensure it is seated correctly to prevent leaks and ensure proper water flow.

4.3. Solar Power and Battery Backup

The integrated solar panel charges the internal battery during daylight hours. This battery stores excess energy to ensure a steady and continuous fountain operation, even during periods of cloud cover or after sunset. The system is designed for reliable, worry-free operation.

4.4. Low-Water Auto Shut-Off

The pump is equipped with a smart low-water auto shut-off feature. If the water level in the basin drops too low, the pump will automatically stop operating to prevent dry running and extend its lifespan. Refill the bird bath with water to resume fountain operation.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your bird bath.

5.1. Cleaning the Bird Bath

Periodically clean the bird bath basin to prevent algae buildup and keep the water fresh for wildlife. Use a soft brush or cloth and mild soap, then rinse thoroughly with clean water. Avoid harsh chemicals that could harm birds.

5.2. Filter Replacement

The pump includes a filtration system to block dirt, leaves, and debris. It is recommended to replace the filter sponges every 3 months, or more frequently if the water appears dirty or the fountain flow is reduced.

  1. Carefully lift the top section of the bird bath to access the pump.
  2. Locate the filter housing on the pump.
  3. Remove the old filter sponge and discard it.
  4. Insert a new filter sponge into the housing.
  5. Reassemble the bird bath, ensuring the top section is securely in place.
