Introduction and Compatibility

This manual provides instructions for the Generic replacement remote control designed for specific adjustable bed bases, including the SomosBeds Elite model. It is crucial to verify compatibility before use.

Important Note: This remote is not universal. It is specifically designed to work with control boxes identified by model numbers such as JLDP.15.012.001. To ensure correct functionality, please compare your existing remote and control box with the images and information provided.

Before attempting to pair or use this remote, it is highly recommended to send clear photos of your bed's control box (including any labels with model numbers) and your old remote control (front and back) to the supplier for confirmation of compatibility.

Setup and Pairing

1. Battery Installation

The remote control requires 2 AAA batteries (not included). Follow these steps to install them:

1. Remove the battery cover from the back of the remote control.
2. Insert 2 AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
3. Replace the battery cover securely.

2. Pairing the Remote Control

The remote control must be paired with your adjustable bed's control box to function. The pairing distance should be less than 2 meters (approximately 6.5 feet).

Method 1: Standard Pairing Process

1. Locate the black control box mounted under your bed.
2. Double-click the black PAIR button on the control box. The indicator light on the control box will change to blue, and any under-bed lights may flash. This indicates the control box is in pairing mode.
3. Within 10 seconds, press the PAIR button on your new remote control. The backlight of the remote control will flash.
4. Continue holding the PAIR button on the remote until its backlight stops flashing and remains constant. Simultaneously, the indicator light on the control box should change from blue to green and remain constant, or the under-bed lights will stop flashing and turn off.
5. The remote is now paired. Test functionality by pressing the Head Up, Foot Up, and Flat buttons.

Method 2: Alternative Pairing Process (if Method 1 fails)

1. Unplug the power cord of your adjustable bed from the wall outlet.
2. Wait approximately 5 seconds.
3. Plug the power cord back into the outlet.
4. Within 10 seconds of plugging in the power cord, press and hold the PAIR button on the back of the remote control. The PAIR button's indicator light will illuminate blue and start flashing.
5. Release the PAIR button when its light stops flashing and the LED light on the control box goes out.
6. The remote should now be paired. Test all remote functions.

Operating the Remote Control

Familiarize yourself with the buttons on your remote control to operate your adjustable bed base.

• Head Up/Down: Adjusts the head section of the bed.
• Foot Up/Down: Adjusts the foot section of the bed.
• Flat: Returns the bed to a completely flat position.
• Zero Gravity / Anti-Snore / Lounge (if present): Pre-set positions for comfort.
• Memory Presets (M1, M2, etc.): Saves and recalls your favorite bed positions.
• Massage (if present): Activates and adjusts massage functions.
• Under-bed Light (if present): Controls the under-bed lighting.

Refer to your adjustable bed base's original manual for specific details on pre-set positions and advanced features, as remote button labels may vary slightly.

Maintenance

Battery Replacement

When the remote control's performance degrades or the indicator lights dim, it's time to replace the batteries. Follow the battery installation steps outlined in the "Setup and Pairing" section.

• Always use 2 new AAA batteries.
• Do not mix old and new batteries, or different types of batteries.
• Dispose of used batteries responsibly according to local regulations.

Troubleshooting

If your remote control is not functioning correctly, try the following troubleshooting steps:

• Remote Not Responding:
  • Check if the batteries are correctly installed and not depleted. Replace them if necessary.
  • Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the bed base's control box.
  • Confirm you are within the effective range (less than 2 meters) for pairing and operation.
• Pairing Failure:
  • Repeat the pairing process (Method 1 or Method 2) carefully, ensuring all steps are followed within the specified timeframes.
  • Ensure the control box is receiving power.
  • Verify that your control box model is compatible with this remote. Refer to the "Introduction and Compatibility" section.
• Intermittent Operation:
  • Weak batteries can cause intermittent operation. Replace them.
  • Check for any loose connections in the bed base's power supply or control box.
