1. Product Overview

The Gatijan A1 Black is a compact 4K wireless security camera designed for indoor and outdoor monitoring. It features a 160-degree wide-angle lens, night vision, and motion detection capabilities, allowing for remote viewing via a smartphone application.

2. Setup Guide

2.1 Charging the Camera

Before initial use, fully charge the camera using the provided charging cable and a standard USB power adapter (not included). The camera has a built-in 700mAh rechargeable battery. For continuous operation, it is recommended to keep the camera plugged into a power source.

2.2 Inserting an SD Card

To enable local video recording, insert a compatible SD card (not included) into the camera's SD card slot. The camera can record to the SD card even without a Wi-Fi connection. Ensure the SD card is formatted correctly for optimal performance.

2.3 App Installation and Wi-Fi Connection

  1. Download the App: Search for the official camera application on your smartphone's app store (iOS or Android).
  2. Power On: Turn on the camera.
  3. Connect to Wi-Fi: Open the app and follow the on-screen instructions to connect the camera to your home Wi-Fi network. Note: The camera only supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi networks; 5GHz networks are not supported.
  4. Add Camera: Once connected, add the camera to your app. The app supports multiple cameras simultaneously.

2.4 Camera Placement

The Gatijan A1 Black camera is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. Choose a location that provides the desired viewing angle and is within range of your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. Consider mounting options if permanent placement is desired.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Live View and Recording

Once the camera is connected to the app, you can access a live video feed from anywhere. The camera records in 4K HD resolution. You can initiate manual recordings or rely on motion-activated recording to your inserted SD card.

3.2 Motion Detection and Alerts

The camera features motion detection. When motion is detected, the camera can send instant notifications to your smartphone via the app. This allows you to monitor activity in real-time.

3.3 Night Vision

The camera is equipped with Night Color vision, allowing for clearer images in low-light or dark conditions.

3.4 Multi-User Sharing

The camera's feed can be shared with multiple users through the application, allowing family members or trusted individuals to also monitor the camera's view.

4. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the camera lens and body. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Battery Care: For optimal battery life, avoid extreme temperatures. If the camera is used continuously, keep it connected to a power source. The internal battery is primarily for portable, short-term use.
  • Firmware Updates: Check the app regularly for any available firmware updates to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • SD Card Management: Periodically review and back up important recordings from your SD card. Format the SD card within the camera settings if you encounter recording issues.

5. Troubleshooting

5.1 Camera Not Powering On or Staying On

  • Ensure the camera is fully charged. Connect it to a power source using the provided USB cable.
  • If the camera does not stay on after disconnecting from power, the internal battery may be depleted or faulty. For continuous operation, keep the camera plugged in.

5.2 Wi-Fi Connection Issues

  • Verify your Wi-Fi network is 2.4GHz. The camera does not support 5GHz networks.
  • Ensure the camera is within range of your Wi-Fi router.
  • Restart your router and the camera, then attempt to reconnect via the app.

5.3 SD Card Not Reading or Recording

  • Ensure the SD card is inserted correctly.
  • Try formatting the SD card using the camera's settings within the app. If formatting on a computer, ensure it's formatted to a compatible file system (e.g., FAT32).
  • Test with a different SD card to rule out a faulty card.

5.4 Poor Video Quality

  • Ensure the camera lens is clean and free from dust or smudges.
  • Check your Wi-Fi signal strength. A weak signal can affect streaming quality.
  • Confirm the app settings are configured for 4K resolution if available.
