4. Maintenance and Filter Replacement
4.1 Cleaning the Tanks
Clean both the tap water tank and the clean water tank once a week with soap and water to prevent bacterial growth and maintain optimal water quality. The tap water tank, in particular, accumulates concentrated contaminants and should be cleaned regularly.
4.2 Filter Lifespan and Replacement
The quick-change twist-and-seal filters have varying lifespans:
- Pre/Carbon Filter (1-2): Replace every 6 months or 600 gallons.
- Reverse Osmosis Filter (3): Replace every 2 years or 1200 gallons.
- VOC Carbon with pH+ Mineral Boost Filter (4): Replace every 1 year or 600 gallons.
The AquaTru app will provide convenient alerts when it's time to change your filters. To replace a filter, simply twist the old filter counter-clockwise to remove it, and twist the new filter clockwise until it clicks into place.

5. Troubleshooting Common Issues
If you encounter any issues with your AquaTru purifier, consider the following:
- Water Not Filtering: Ensure the unit is properly plugged in and the tap water tank is correctly seated. Check the app for any error messages or filter replacement alerts.
- Unusual Taste/Odor: This may indicate that a filter needs to be replaced. Check the filter life indicators on the unit's display or in the app. Ensure tanks are cleaned regularly.
- Slow Filtration: Filter membranes can become clogged over time. Check filter life and replace as needed.
- App Connectivity Issues: Ensure your Wi-Fi network is stable and the purifier is within range. Refer to the app's troubleshooting guide for specific connection steps.
