3. Installation
The Elica chimney can be installed in two modes: ducted or ductless (recirculation). Professional installation is recommended.
Installation Modes
- Ducted Mode: Air is extracted through an external duct pipe and expelled outside. This is the most efficient method for smoke and odor removal.
- Ductless Mode: Air is filtered through an optional charcoal filter (sold separately) to remove odors and grease, then recirculated back into the kitchen. This mode is suitable when external ducting is not feasible.

- To activate, press the dedicated auto-clean button on the control panel.
- The process typically takes a few minutes.
- Ensure the oil collector is in place before starting the auto-clean cycle.

Cleaning the Oil Collector
The oil collector tray should be emptied and cleaned regularly. Frequency depends on usage, but it is recommended to check it weekly.
- Carefully remove the oil collector tray from the chimney.
- Dispose of the collected grease responsibly.
- Wash the tray with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry before reinserting.
External Surface Cleaning
Clean the exterior surfaces of the chimney with a soft cloth and a mild, non-abrasive cleaning agent. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that could damage the finish.
Charcoal Filter Replacement (Ductless Mode Only)
If operating in ductless mode, the charcoal filter needs periodic replacement. The replacement frequency depends on usage, typically every 3-6 months. Refer to the charcoal filter's specific instructions for replacement details.
