Introduction
Thank you for purchasing the CIYODO Aluminum Pressure Cooker. This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and care of your new pressure cooker. Please read all instructions carefully before first use and retain this manual for future reference.
Important Safety Instructions
Failure to follow these instructions may result in property damage or personal injury. Always exercise caution when operating a pressure cooker.
- Read all instructions before using the pressure cooker.
- Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
- Close supervision is necessary when the pressure cooker is used near children.
- Do not place the pressure cooker in a heated oven.
- Extreme caution must be used when moving a pressure cooker containing hot liquids.
- Do not use the pressure cooker for purposes other than its intended use.
- This appliance cooks under pressure. Improper use may result in scalding injury. Make certain unit is properly closed before operating. See "Operating Instructions".
- Never force open the pressure cooker. Do not open until the unit has cooled and internal pressure has been released. See "Operating Instructions".
- Do not fill the unit over 2/3 full. When cooking foods that expand during cooking, such as rice or dehydrated vegetables, do not fill the unit over 1/2 full. Overfilling may cause a risk of clogging the vent pipe and developing excess pressure. See "Operating Instructions".
- Be aware that certain foods, such as applesauce, cranberries, pearl barley, oatmeal or other cereals, split peas, noodles, macaroni, rhubarb, or spaghetti can foam, froth, and sputter, and clog the pressure release device. These foods should not be cooked in a pressure cooker.
- Always check the pressure release devices for clogging before use.
- Use only CIYODO replacement parts as specified in this manual.
- This pressure cooker is suitable for use on gas and electric stoves. Ensure the heat source is appropriate for the cooker's base size.

Setup and First Use
- Unpacking: Carefully remove all packaging materials and labels from the pressure cooker.
- Initial Cleaning: Before first use, wash the pot body, lid, and all removable parts (gasket, pressure regulator) with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely.
- Inspect Components: Ensure the rubber gasket is properly seated inside the lid and is free from cracks or damage. Check that the pressure regulator and safety valve are clear and not obstructed.
- Water Test (Recommended): For your first use, perform a water test to familiarize yourself with the cooker's operation and ensure proper sealing.
- Add 2-3 cups of water to the pressure cooker.
- Place the lid on the pot, aligning the arrows or marks on the lid and handle, then rotate the handle to lock it securely.
- Place the pressure regulator onto its stem on the lid.
- Place the cooker on a stove burner over medium-high heat.
- Observe as steam begins to escape from the pressure regulator, indicating pressure has built up. Reduce heat to maintain a steady, gentle steam release.
- After 5-10 minutes, turn off the heat and allow the pressure to release naturally, or use a quick release method (see "Operating Instructions").
- Once all pressure is released, open the lid.
Operating Instructions
1. Preparing for Cooking:
- Add Ingredients: Place your food and the required amount of liquid into the pressure cooker. Ensure the liquid level is at least 1 cup (250ml) unless specified otherwise in a recipe.
- Do Not Overfill: Never fill the cooker more than 2/3 full. For foods that expand (e.g., rice, beans), do not fill more than 1/2 full.
- Secure the Lid: Place the lid on the pot, aligning the lid and body handles. Rotate the lid handle clockwise until it locks securely into place. Ensure the lid is fully sealed.
- Position Pressure Regulator: Place the pressure regulator onto its stem on the lid.
2. Building Pressure:
- Heat Source: Place the pressure cooker on a suitable burner (gas or electric) over high heat.
- Pressure Indication: As pressure builds, steam will begin to escape from the pressure regulator. This indicates that full pressure has been reached.
- Adjust Heat: Once steam is steadily escaping, reduce the heat to the lowest setting that maintains a constant, gentle release of steam. This prevents excessive pressure buildup and saves energy.
- Cooking Time: Begin timing your recipe from this point.
3. Releasing Pressure:
There are two primary methods for releasing pressure:
- Natural Release: Turn off the heat and allow the pressure cooker to cool down naturally. The pressure indicator will drop, and steam will stop escaping. This method is ideal for foods that benefit from continued cooking, such as stews and roasts.
- Quick Release (Cold Water Release): For faster pressure release, turn off the heat and carefully place the pressure cooker under a cold water tap, allowing cold water to run over the lid (avoiding the pressure regulator and safety valve). The pressure will release quickly. Caution: Do not immerse the entire cooker in water. This method is suitable for delicate foods that can overcook quickly.
Important: Never attempt to open the lid until all internal pressure has been released. The lid will unlock easily once pressure is fully released.
Maintenance and Cleaning
- After Each Use: Always clean your pressure cooker immediately after use.
- Disassembly: Remove the pressure regulator and gasket from the lid.
- Washing: Wash the pot body, lid, gasket, and pressure regulator with warm, soapy water. Use a soft sponge or cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads that can damage the aluminum surface.
- Rinsing: Rinse all parts thoroughly under running water to remove all soap residue.
- Drying: Dry all parts completely before reassembling or storing. Ensure the gasket is dry to prevent sticking.
- Inspect: Regularly inspect the gasket for cracks, hardening, or signs of wear. Replace if necessary. Check the pressure regulator and safety valve for any blockages.
- Storage: Store the pressure cooker with the lid inverted or slightly ajar to allow air circulation and prevent odors.
