1. Important Safety Information

Please read these instructions carefully before assembly and use of the Chipolino Illusion Stroller. Keep this manual for future reference. Failure to follow these instructions could result in serious injury to your child.

  • This stroller is suitable for children from birth up to 4 years of age, or a maximum weight of 22 kg.
  • Always use the 5-point safety harness to secure your child. Ensure it is correctly adjusted and fastened.
  • Never leave your child unattended in the stroller.
  • Ensure all locking devices are engaged before use.
  • Do not overload the storage basket. The maximum load for the basket is 3 kg.
  • Do not hang bags or other items on the handle, as this may cause the stroller to become unstable.
  • Be aware of the risk of open fires and other sources of strong heat, such as electric bar fires, gas fires, etc., in the near vicinity of the stroller.
  • Use only replacement parts supplied or approved by the manufacturer.
  • Do not use accessories that are not approved by the manufacturer.

2. Setup and Assembly

The Chipolino Illusion Stroller requires minimal assembly. Follow these steps to prepare your stroller for use.

2.1 Unfolding the Stroller

  1. Place the folded stroller on a flat surface.
  2. Release any locking mechanisms that keep the stroller folded.
  3. Lift the handle firmly until the frame clicks into place, indicating it is fully open. Ensure all parts are securely locked.

2.2 Attaching the Wheels

The wheels are designed for quick release and easy attachment.

  1. Align the wheel axle with the corresponding slot on the stroller frame.
  2. Push the wheel firmly until you hear a click, indicating it is securely attached.
  3. Repeat for all four wheels. Pull on each wheel to ensure it is properly secured before use.

2.3 Attaching the Front Bar

  1. Locate the attachment points on both sides of the stroller frame.
  2. Insert the ends of the front bar into these points until they click securely.
  3. To remove, press the release buttons on each side and pull the bar away.

3. Operating Instructions

Familiarize yourself with the various features and adjustments of your Chipolino Illusion Stroller.

3.1 Adjusting the Backrest

The backrest can be adjusted to three different positions for your child's comfort, from lying flat for newborns to an upright sitting position.

  1. Locate the adjustment mechanism at the back of the seat.
  2. Follow the mechanism's instructions (usually a lever or strap system) to recline or raise the backrest to the desired position.
  3. Ensure the backrest is securely locked in place before placing your child in the stroller.

3.2 Adjusting the Footrest

The footrest is adjustable to provide optimal support for your child's legs as they grow.

  1. Locate the buttons or levers on either side of the footrest.
  2. Press the buttons/levers and adjust the footrest to the desired angle.
  3. Release the buttons/levers to lock the footrest in position.

3.3 Using the Safety Harness

The 5-point safety harness is crucial for your child's safety. Always use it when your child is in the stroller.

  1. Place your child in the seat.
  2. Bring the shoulder straps over your child's shoulders and the waist straps around their waist.
  3. Insert the buckles of the shoulder and waist straps into the central buckle until they click.
  4. Adjust the straps to ensure a snug, but not tight, fit. There should be enough room to slide two fingers between the strap and your child.
  5. To release, press the button on the central buckle.

3.4 Engaging the Brakes

The rear wheels are equipped with a brake mechanism on the left side.

  1. To engage the brake, press down firmly on the brake lever located near the left rear wheel.
  2. Ensure the stroller does not move by gently pushing it.
  3. To release the brake, lift the lever upwards.

3.5 Swiveling Front Wheels

The front wheels can swivel for easy maneuverability or be locked for stability on uneven terrain.

  1. To allow the front wheels to swivel, ensure the locking mechanism (usually a small lever or button above the wheel) is in the unlocked position.
  2. To lock the front wheels in a straight position, engage the locking mechanism.

3.6 Using the Canopy

The canopy provides shade and protection. It features a mesh window for ventilation and an accessory bag.

  1. To extend the canopy, pull it forward.
  2. To retract, push it backward.
  3. The mesh window can be opened or closed as needed for airflow and to check on your child.

3.7 Folding the Stroller

The stroller features an automatic 3D folding mechanism, allowing it to be folded with one hand.

  1. Ensure the backrest is in the most upright position and the canopy is retracted.
  2. Locate the folding mechanism (usually a button or lever on the handle).
  3. Activate the mechanism and gently push the handle forward and down. The stroller will automatically fold.
  4. Once folded, ensure it is securely latched. An additional handle is provided for carrying the folded stroller like a suitcase.

4. Maintenance

Regular maintenance will ensure the longevity and safe operation of your Chipolino Illusion Stroller.

  • Cleaning: Clean the fabric parts with a damp cloth and mild soap. Do not use harsh detergents or abrasive cleaners. The frame can be wiped clean with a damp cloth.
  • Lubrication: Periodically lubricate moving parts such as wheel axles and folding mechanisms with a silicone-based lubricant to ensure smooth operation.
  • Inspection: Regularly check all screws, rivets, and locking devices to ensure they are secure. Inspect the harness for wear and tear.
  • Storage: Store the stroller in a dry, well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Wheel Care: The EVA tires do not require inflation. Keep them free of debris. The wheels are detachable for easier cleaning or replacement.

5. Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues with your stroller, refer to the following common problems and solutions.

  • Stroller does not unfold/fold smoothly: Check for any obstructions in the folding mechanism. Ensure all locking devices are disengaged before unfolding. Lubricate moving parts if necessary.
  • Wheels are stiff or squeaky: Clean any dirt or debris from the wheel axles. Apply a silicone lubricant to the moving parts of the wheels.
  • Brake not engaging/disengaging: Check for obstructions around the brake mechanism. Ensure the brake lever is fully pressed down or lifted.
  • Harness is difficult to buckle/unbuckle: Ensure the buckles are clean and free of debris. Do not force the buckles.
