1. Product Overview

The Kesnos CTH30B Dehumidifier is designed to efficiently reduce humidity in your home, basement, bedroom, or other medium-sized spaces up to 2,500 square feet. This Energy Star 2025 certified unit removes up to 30 pints of moisture per day, contributing to a more comfortable and healthier environment.

Key features include ultra-quiet operation (36 dB), four pre-set modes (Comfort, Dry, Continuous, Turbo), automatic defrost, humidity control, memory restart, and two drainage options.

3. Setup

3.1 Unpacking and Initial Placement

Carefully remove the dehumidifier from its packaging. It is recommended to stand the unit upright for at least 24 hours before initial use if it was not upright during transit.

Place the dehumidifier in an area where humidity control is desired. Ensure there is adequate space around the unit for proper airflow. The unit features 360° caster wheels and a hidden handle for easy movement between rooms.

3.2 Drainage Options

The Kesnos CTH30B offers two methods for water drainage:

1. Manual Drainage (Water Tank): The unit collects water in its 0.39-gallon water tank. When the tank is full, the dehumidifier will automatically shut off to prevent overflow, and a "Tank Full" indicator will illuminate. Simply pull out the tank, empty the collected water, and reinsert it.
2. Continuous Drainage (Drain Hose): For long-term use or in areas requiring constant dehumidification, you can attach the included 3.3 ft drain hose for continuous gravity drainage. Ensure the hose is positioned to allow water to flow downwards into a suitable drain. The unit is compatible with a 1/2" garden hose (not included).

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Control Panel Overview

The dehumidifier features an intuitive LED control panel for easy operation. The display shows the current humidity level and timer settings.

• Power Button: Turns the dehumidifier on or off.
• Mode Button: Cycles through available operating modes: Dry, Turbo, Comfort, and Continuous.
• Up/Down Buttons: Adjusts the desired humidity level or timer setting.
• Timer Button: Sets or cancels a timer for automatic operation.
• Indicators: Lights for Continuous, Timer, Tank Full, Dry, Turbo, and Comfort modes.

4.2 Operating Modes

Select the appropriate mode based on your needs:

• Dry Mode: Standard dehumidification for general use.
• Turbo Mode: Operates at maximum fan speed for faster moisture removal, ideal for drying clothes or quickly reducing high humidity.
• Comfort Mode: Maintains an ideal humidity level for a comfortable sleep or living environment. The unit operates quietly in this mode.
• Continuous Mode: The dehumidifier runs continuously regardless of the set humidity level, ideal for extremely damp conditions or when using continuous drainage.

4.3 Timer Function

The 24-hour timer allows you to schedule the dehumidifier to turn on or off within a 24-hour period. Use the Up/Down buttons to set the desired time.

4.4 Automatic Features

• Auto Defrost: The dehumidifier automatically detects and removes frost build-up on its coils, optimizing energy efficiency and enhancing operation in low temperatures. The compressor stops during defrosting, and the fan continues to operate. Normal operation resumes once defrosting is complete.
• Smart & Efficient Humidity Control: The built-in humidity sensor detects space humidity. If the humidity falls below your preset level by more than 5% RH, the dehumidifier pauses operation. It resumes when the humidity rises above the target level by more than 5% RH.
• Power-off Memory Restart: In case of a power failure or accidental unplugging, the dehumidifier will automatically restart with your previously saved settings once power is restored. Note that any set timer will be interrupted and require resetting.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning the Water Tank

Regularly empty and clean the water tank to prevent mold and mildew growth. Pull out the tank, rinse it with clean water, and dry it thoroughly before reinserting.

5.2 Cleaning the Air Filter

The dehumidifier is equipped with a removable and washable filter. A "Clean Filter" indicator may illuminate to remind you to clean the filter. To clean, remove the filter from the back of the unit, wash it with mild soap and water, rinse thoroughly, and allow it to air dry completely before reinserting.

Maintaining a clean filter ensures optimal performance and air quality.

• Q1: Why isn't the unit showing any alerts when the tank is full?
  A1: This usually occurs in "Comfort" mode. When the tank is full in Comfort mode, it stays silent and the display remains off to avoid disturbing your rest.
• Q2: Why is my dehumidifier not working?
  A2: Check the power connection, ensure the water tank is empty and correctly repositioned, and verify that the target humidity is set lower than the room's current humidity.
• Q3: Can I use the unit if it wasn't upright on arrival?
  A3: If the box is intact, there's no need to worry. We recommend standing the unit upright for at least 24 hours before using it.
