Welcome to the user manual for your GE Power Pro X500 16MP Digital Camera. This guide provides essential information for setting up, operating, and maintaining your camera to ensure optimal performance. The GE Power Pro X500 features a 16-megapixel sensor, 15x optical zoom, and image stabilization, designed to capture high-quality photos and videos.

Setup
1. Battery Installation
The GE Power Pro X500 uses four AA batteries.
- Locate the battery compartment on the bottom of the camera.
- Slide the battery compartment cover open.
- Insert four AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
2. Memory Card Installation
The camera supports SD/SDHC memory cards up to 16GB.
- Open the memory card slot cover, usually located near the battery compartment.
- Insert the SD/SDHC card with the metal contacts facing the front of the camera until it clicks into place.
- Close the memory card slot cover.
3. Attaching the Shoulder Strap
Attach the provided shoulder strap to the strap lugs on both sides of the camera for secure carrying.
Operating the Camera
Power On/Off
Press the ON/OFF button located on the top of the camera to power it on or off.

Mode Dial
Rotate the mode dial on the top of the camera to select your desired shooting mode:
- Auto: For general photography, the camera automatically adjusts settings.
- SCN (Scene): Select from various scene modes (e.g., Portrait, Landscape) for optimized settings.
- P (Program AE): Camera sets aperture and shutter speed, but you can adjust other settings.
- A (Aperture Priority): You set the aperture, camera sets shutter speed.
- S (Shutter Priority): You set the shutter speed, camera sets aperture.
- M (Manual): Full manual control over aperture and shutter speed.
- Video: For recording video clips.
Zoom Operation
Use the zoom lever located around the shutter button to adjust the 15x optical zoom. Pushing the lever towards 'W' (Wide) zooms out, and towards 'T' (Telephoto) zooms in. The camera also features 6x digital zoom.

Image Stabilization
The camera's optical image stabilization helps reduce blur caused by camera shake, especially when using the zoom or shooting in low light. This feature is automatically engaged in most shooting modes.
LCD Screen and Navigation
The 2.7-inch auto LCD screen displays your shots, camera settings, and menu options. Use the directional pad and 'OK' button on the back of the camera to navigate menus and select options.

Flash Modes
The built-in flash offers several modes, including Fill Flash, Red Eye Reduction, and Automatic. These can typically be adjusted via the camera's menu or a dedicated flash button.
Connecting to a Computer (USB)
Use the provided USB cable to connect your camera to a computer for transferring photos and videos.
Maintenance
- Cleaning the Lens and Screen: Use a soft, lint-free cloth specifically designed for optics. Avoid harsh chemicals.
- Battery Care: Remove batteries if the camera will not be used for an extended period. Store batteries in a cool, dry place.
- Storage: Store the camera in a dry, dust-free environment, away from extreme temperatures and direct sunlight.
- Firmware Updates: Check the manufacturer's website periodically for any available firmware updates.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your camera, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
- Camera does not power on:
- Ensure batteries are correctly inserted and fully charged.
- Try replacing with new AA batteries.
- Images are blurry:
- Check if the lens is clean.
- Ensure image stabilization is active.
- Hold the camera steady or use a tripod.
- Verify focus settings.
- Memory card error:
- Reinsert the memory card.
- Try a different compatible SD/SDHC card.
- Format the memory card (this will erase all data).
- Flash not firing:
