2.2. Key Installation Steps
- Preparation: Ensure all accessories are complete. The wall for indoor unit installation must be hard and firm to prevent vibration. Reserve adequate space around both indoor and outdoor units as per diagrams for optimal airflow and maintenance.
- Indoor Unit Mounting: Fasten the pegboard horizontally using appropriate screws. Make a wall hole for piping, ensuring it slants outwardly by 5-10 degrees for proper drainage.
- Electrical Connections (Indoor Unit): Pass the power cable out from the back of the indoor unit and fix it on the terminal board. Ensure cables are securely clamped.
- Drain Pipe and Refrigerant Piping: Remove the knock-out panel for the drain pipe. Connect the connecting pipe to the indoor unit, aiming at the pipe center and tightening with a torque wrench according to the provided table. Carefully check for any damage to joints. Use insulation sleeves and plastic cable ties to wrap connecting pipes, cables, and the drain hose, ensuring the pipe slopes downward.
- Wall Penetration: Put the refrigerant piping out of the wall hole. Install a pipe protecting ring and seal it with putty to protect piping and wires.
- Outdoor Unit Mounting: Use at least 6 expansion bolts to securely fix the mounting brackets on the wall. Place the outdoor unit onto the brackets and use 4 screws to fix its feet.
- Refrigerant Pipe Connection (Outdoor Unit): Remove the nuts from the stop valves. Aim at the pipe center of the stop valve and tighten the taper nut with fingers, then with two wrenches.
- Electrical Connections (Outdoor Unit): Remove the electrical box cover. Connect the cables respectively to the corresponding terminals of the terminal board of the outdoor unit as per the wiring diagram. Ensure the grounding wire is properly connected and all cables are fixed reliably with fasteners.
- Vacuuming and Refrigerant Release: Before working on the air conditioner, remove the cover of the stop valve. Fully open the handle Lo of the manifold valve and apply vacuum for at least 15 minutes, checking that the compound vacuum gauge reads -0.1MPa (-76cmHg). After vacuuming, fully open the stop valve with a hex wrench. Screw all the caps back on and tighten them up.
