1. Introduction
This user manual provides comprehensive instructions for the Pernhcum X99 Motherboard Set Kit, which includes an X99 Motherboard, an LGA2011-3 Xeon E5 2630 V4 CPU, and DDR4 16GB REG ECC Memory. 2. Setup and Installation
Follow these steps carefully to install your motherboard and components.
2.1 Component Identification

2.2 CPU Installation
- Carefully open the CPU socket retention arm on the LGA2011-3 socket.
- Align the Intel Xeon E5 2630 V4 CPU with the socket, ensuring the gold triangle on the CPU matches the triangle on the socket.
- Gently place the CPU into the socket. Do not force it.
- Close the retention arm to secure the CPU.
- Apply a thin, even layer of thermal paste to the CPU's integrated heat spreader (IHS).
- Install the CPU cooler according to its manufacturer's instructions.
2.3 RAM Installation
The X99 motherboard features four DDR4 memory slots. Pay close attention to the installation priority for optimal performance.

- ALL RAM needs to be installed in the grey slots (slot #1 and slot #4) first.
- For 1 RAM module: Install in slot #1 or #4 (grey slot).
- For 2 RAM modules: Install in slot #1 and slot #4 (grey slots).
- For 3 RAM modules: Install in slot #1, slot #4, and then slot #2 or #3.
- For 4 RAM modules: Install in all available slots.
- Ensure the memory module's notch aligns with the slot's key.
- Press down firmly on both ends of the memory module until the clips snap into place.

- CMOS Battery: A 2032 battery needs to be installed in the designated slot to start the computer. Without it, the system will not boot.
- Front USB: Ensure the front USB header is correctly inserted into the designated yellow pin position on the motherboard. Incorrect insertion can prevent the computer from starting.
- Storage Devices: Connect SATA drives to the SATA 2.0 ports. For NVME M.2 SSDs, insert them into the M.2 slots and secure with the provided screw.
- Front Panel Connectors: Connect the power switch, reset switch, HDD LED, and power LED cables from your case to the corresponding pins on the motherboard's front panel header. Refer to your case manual for specific pin assignments.
