Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues with your Ninja CRISPi Portable Air Fryer, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Unit does not turn on. | Not plugged in; power outlet malfunction; unit not properly assembled. | Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a working electrical outlet. Check if the PowerPod is correctly seated on the glass container and the container on the base. |
| Food is not cooking evenly. | Overcrowding the container; food pieces are too large; insufficient shaking/flipping. | Avoid overcrowding; cook in smaller batches if necessary. Cut food into uniform, smaller pieces. Shake or flip food halfway through the cooking cycle for even results. |
| Food is not crispy. | Too much moisture; not enough oil (for air frying); incorrect cooking time. | Pat food dry before cooking. For air frying, a small amount of oil can help achieve crispiness. Increase cooking time slightly if needed. Ensure the non-stick frying plate is used. |
| White smoke coming from the unit. | Cooking fatty foods; food residue in the unit. | This is normal when cooking very fatty foods. Ensure the unit is clean before each use to prevent residue from burning. |
| Unit emits a burning smell. | Food residue on heating element; new unit smell. | A slight burning smell is normal during the first few uses of a new appliance. If it persists, unplug the unit and clean the heating element area thoroughly. |
If the problem persists after attempting these solutions, please contact Ninja customer support.
