Setup and Installation

The REVXON Bike Kickstand is designed for straightforward installation. Follow these steps carefully:

  1. Prepare Your Bike: Ensure your bicycle is stable, preferably by leaning it against a wall or using a repair stand. Identify the mounting area on the rear chainstay, typically near the rear wheel axle.
  2. Identify Components: Unpack the kickstand, long bolt, aluminum alloy plate, and plastic pads.
  3. Position the Kickstand: Place the kickstand's mounting bracket against the chainstay. The kickstand should be positioned so that it extends downwards and slightly backward when deployed.
  4. Insert Pads and Plate: Place the plastic pads between the bike frame and the kickstand's mounting bracket to protect the frame from scratches. Position the aluminum alloy plate on the opposite side of the chainstay, aligning it with the kickstand's bolt hole.
  5. Secure with Bolt: Insert the long bolt through the kickstand bracket, through the chainstay (with pads), and into the aluminum alloy plate.
  6. Tighten Screws: Using an appropriate tool (e.g., 5mm hexagon socket for M6 screw), tighten the bolt securely. Ensure the kickstand is firmly attached and does not wobble. Do not overtighten to avoid damaging the frame.
  7. Adjust Height (if necessary): If your kickstand model features an adjustable height mechanism (as shown in Figure 4), loosen the adjustment screw on the back of the kickstand, extend or retract the leg to achieve the desired height for stable parking, and then re-tighten the screw.
  8. Test Stability: Once installed, test the kickstand by deploying it and gently leaning your bike onto it. Ensure the bike stands securely without tipping.

Operation

Operating your REVXON Bike Kickstand is simple:

  • To Deploy: While holding your bike, use your foot to push the kickstand leg downwards and slightly forward until it clicks into its fully extended position. Gently lean your bike onto the kickstand. Ensure the bike is stable before releasing it.
  • To Retract: While holding your bike, use your foot to push the kickstand leg upwards and slightly backward. The concealed spring-loaded latch will assist in retracting the kickstand securely against the bike frame. Ensure it is fully retracted and does not interfere with pedaling or riding.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your kickstand:

  • Cleaning: Periodically wipe down the kickstand with a damp cloth to remove dirt and grime. Avoid harsh chemicals that may damage the finish or rubber components.
  • Check Fasteners: Regularly inspect all screws and bolts, especially the main mounting bolt, to ensure they are tight. Re-tighten if necessary to prevent wobbling or detachment.
  • Lubrication: Apply a small amount of bicycle-specific lubricant to the pivot points and the spring mechanism once every few months to ensure smooth operation and prevent rust.
  • Inspect Rubber Foot: Check the rubber foot for wear or damage. A worn foot can reduce stability. Replace if necessary.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your kickstand, consider the following:

  • Kickstand is Loose/Wobbles:
    • Check the main mounting bolt. It may need to be tightened.
    • Ensure the plastic pads are correctly positioned to provide a snug fit against the frame.
  • Bike is Not Stable When Parked:
    • Verify the kickstand's height adjustment. It might be too short or too long for your bike. Adjust as per the "Setup and Installation" section.
    • Ensure the rubber foot is intact and providing sufficient grip on the ground.
    • Check the ground surface; extremely soft or uneven surfaces can affect stability.
  • Kickstand is Difficult to Deploy or Retract:
    • The pivot points or spring mechanism may require lubrication. Refer to the "Maintenance" section.
    • Check for any debris or obstructions preventing smooth movement.
