1. Introduction

2. Important Safety Information

Always follow basic safety precautions when using electrical appliances to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and injury to persons.

  • Do not fill the inner pot above the MAX PC (Pressure Cooking) line.
  • Do not deep fry or pressure fry in this appliance.
  • Always check the anti-block shield and float valve for clogging before use.
  • Do not open the pressure cooker until the unit has cooled and internal pressure has been released.

4. Setup and First Use

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all contents from the box. Retain packaging for future storage or transport.
  2. Initial Cleaning: Before first use, wash the inner cooking pot, sealing ring, and lid thoroughly with warm soapy water. Rinse and dry completely. Wipe the exterior of the cooker base with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the cooker base in water.
  3. Install Condensation Collector: Attach the condensation collector to the back of the cooker base.
  4. Insert Inner Pot: Place the inner cooking pot into the cooker base. Ensure it sits flat and is properly seated.
  5. Lid Placement: Place the lid on the cooker base, aligning the arrow on the lid with the arrow on the cooker base. Turn the lid clockwise until it locks into place.
  6. Power Connection: Plug the power cord into the cooker base, then into a grounded 120V wall outlet. The display will show "OFF".
  7. Water Test (Recommended): Perform a water test to familiarize yourself with the pressure cooking function and ensure the cooker is working correctly. Add 3 cups of water to the inner pot. Close the lid and ensure the steam release handle is in the Sealing position. Select "Pressure Cook" and set time to 5 minutes. Once cooking is complete, allow natural release for 10 minutes, then perform a quick release.

5.2 Cooking Functions

Your Instant Pot Chef Series offers 10-in-1 smart cooking functions:

  • Pressure Cook: For fast cooking under pressure.
  • Slow Cook: For traditional slow cooking recipes.
  • Sauté: For browning, simmering, or thickening.
  • Steam: For steaming vegetables, fish, and more.
  • Rice: Optimized for cooking various types of rice.
  • Yogurt: For making homemade yogurt.
  • Warm: Keeps food warm after cooking.
  • Egg: For perfectly cooked eggs.
  • Additional functions may include Cake, Sterilize, etc., depending on the specific model.

5.3 Basic Operation Steps

  1. Add Ingredients: Place the inner pot into the cooker base. Add your ingredients and liquid according to your recipe. Ensure liquid is at least 1 cup for pressure cooking.
  2. Close Lid: Place the lid on the cooker base and turn it clockwise until it locks. Ensure the steam release handle is in the "Sealing" position for pressure cooking.
  3. Select Program: Press the desired Smart Program button (e.g., "Pressure Cook", "Sauté").
  4. Adjust Settings (Optional): Use the "+" and "-" buttons to adjust cooking time or pressure level (High/Low) if available for the selected program.
  5. Start Cooking: The cooker will automatically begin preheating. Once pressure is reached (for pressure cooking), the float valve will rise, and the cooking countdown will begin.
  6. Release Pressure: After cooking, the cooker will beep. You can choose Natural Release (allow pressure to dissipate naturally) or Quick Release (turn the steam release handle to "Venting" position, away from your face, to quickly release steam).
  7. Open Lid: Once the float valve drops down, it is safe to open the lid. Turn the lid counter-clockwise and lift it off.

5.4 Customizing Settings

The Instant Pot Chef Series allows you to save your favorite cooking settings using the customizable recipe preset buttons (indicated by heart icons). To save a setting, adjust the time and temperature for a program, then press and hold one of the heart buttons until it beeps, indicating the setting is saved.

6. Care and Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures the longevity and proper functioning of your Instant Pot.

  • Inner Pot: The premium stainless steel inner pot is dishwasher-safe. For stubborn food residue, soak with warm soapy water before cleaning.
  • Lid: The lid is dishwasher-safe (top rack recommended). Remove the sealing ring and anti-block shield for thorough cleaning.
  • Sealing Ring: Wash with warm soapy water. It is recommended to have a spare sealing ring for savory and sweet dishes to prevent odor transfer.
  • Cooker Base: Wipe the exterior of the cooker base with a damp cloth. Never immerse the cooker base in water or any other liquid.
  • Condensation Collector: Remove and empty the condensation collector after each use. Wash with warm soapy water.

6.2 Storage

Store the Instant Pot in a dry place. You can invert the lid and place it on the cooker base for compact storage.
