Setup Instructions

The Winbomgo Drip Irrigation System is designed for easy do-it-yourself (DIY) assembly. No heating of hoses is required for installation with the upgraded connectors.

1. Planning Your Layout

Before cutting hoses or installing components, plan the layout of your irrigation system. Consider the location of your water source, the areas you want to water (e.g., potted plants, garden beds, lawn), and the types of emitters best suited for each area (drip emitters for roots, spray nozzles for wider coverage).

2. Connecting the Water Timer and Main Hose

  1. Attach the 3/4 inch Y-connector to your outdoor faucet.
  2. Connect the automatic water timer to one outlet of the Y-connector.
  3. Connect the 5/16 inch ID (1/2 inch OD) thick hose to the outlet of the water timer. This will serve as your main supply line.

3. Installing Branch Lines and Emitters

  1. Cut the 5/16 inch ID hose to the desired lengths using scissors or a hose cutter.
  2. Use the various connectors (T-connectors, straight connectors) to create branch lines from the main hose using the 1/4 inch hose.
  3. Insert the 1/4 inch hose into the connectors. The upgraded connectors provide a secure fit without requiring heat.
  4. Attach the adjustable gushing sprinkler nozzles or plant root drip irrigation nozzles to the ends of the 1/4 inch hoses in your desired watering locations.
  5. Secure hoses in place using stakes or clips as needed.

Operating Instructions

1. Programming the Water Timer

The automatic water timer allows for flexible watering schedules. Follow the timer's specific instructions for programming. Generally, programming involves these steps:

  1. Set the current time.
  2. Set the watering start time.
  3. Set the watering duration (how long to water).
  4. Set the watering frequency (how often to water, e.g., daily, every other day, twice a day).

2. Adjusting Water Flow and Spray Patterns

  • Adjustable Gushing Sprinkler Nozzles: These nozzles allow you to rotate the cap to adjust the water volume and spray diameter. Experiment to find the optimal setting for your plants.
  • Plant Root Drip Irrigation Nozzles: These provide a steady, controlled drip directly to the plant roots. The flow rate is generally fixed but can be influenced by water pressure.

Maintenance

  • Regular Inspection: Periodically check all hoses and connectors for leaks, kinks, or damage. Replace any damaged components promptly.
  • Nozzle Cleaning: Over time, nozzles may become clogged with sediment. Disassemble and clean them as needed to maintain optimal water flow.
  • Winterization: Before the first frost, disconnect the water timer and drain all water from the hoses and emitters to prevent freezing and damage. Store the timer indoors in a dry place.
  • Hose Durability: The hoses are designed to be high temperature resistant, anti-aging, and tensile. However, prolonged exposure to extreme conditions can affect their lifespan.

Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
No water flow or low pressure
  • Faucet off or partially open
  • Clogged filter in water timer
  • Kinked or blocked hose
  • Clogged nozzles/emitters
  • Low water pressure from source
  • Ensure faucet is fully open
  • Clean the filter in the water timer
  • Inspect hoses for kinks or blockages and clear them
  • Clean or replace clogged nozzles/emitters
  • Check water source pressure
Leaks at connections
  • Loose connections
  • Damaged O-rings or connectors
  • Hose not fully inserted
  • Tighten all connections securely
  • Inspect O-rings and connectors for damage; replace if necessary
  • Ensure hoses are fully pushed into connectors
Water timer not activating
  • Incorrect programming
  • Dead batteries
  • Timer malfunction
  • Review and re-program the timer settings
  • Replace batteries
