Important Safeguards

Setup and First Use
- Before first use, wipe the cooking plates with a damp cloth or sponge.
- Dry thoroughly.
- Lightly coat the cooking plates with a small amount of cooking oil or butter.
- Close the griddle and plug it into a standard 120V AC electrical outlet. The power indicator light (green) will illuminate.
- Allow the griddle to preheat for approximately 3-5 minutes, or until the ready indicator light (red) illuminates.
- The griddle is now ready for use.
Note: During the first few minutes of initial use, a slight odor and smoke may be noticed. This is normal and harmless, and will disappear after a few uses.

- Carefully open the griddle.

- Gently close the top plate over the sandwich. Do not force it shut.
- Cook for 3-5 minutes, or until the sandwich is golden brown and the cheese (if any) is melted. Cooking time may vary based on ingredients and desired crispness.
- Once cooked, carefully open the griddle and remove the sandwich using a heat-resistant plastic or wooden utensil. Do not use metal utensils as they can damage the non-stick coating.
- Unplug the griddle from the outlet when finished cooking.
