5. Setup

5.1 Battery Installation

  1. Open the battery compartment on the underside of the scale.
  2. Insert the 4 AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  3. Close the battery compartment securely.

5.2 App Download and Pairing

The Posture Smart Scale uses the Fitdays app to track and analyze your body composition data. Ensure your smartphone's Bluetooth is enabled.

  1. Download the "Fitdays" app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
  2. Create an account and set up your personal profile (gender, age, height, etc.). This information is crucial for accurate body composition calculations.
  3. Step onto the scale briefly to activate it. The LED display will light up.
  4. Open the Fitdays app. The app will automatically detect and pair with the scale via Bluetooth. Follow any on-screen prompts to confirm the connection.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Taking a Measurement

  1. Place the scale on a hard, flat, and stable surface.
  2. Ensure your feet are bare and clean.
  3. Step onto the scale with both feet, positioning them on the electrode pads.
  4. Grasp the retractable handle with both hands, ensuring your palms are in full contact with the handle electrodes. Hold the handle at approximately a 45-degree angle, keeping your arms slightly away from your body to avoid interference.
  5. Stand still until the measurement is complete. The LED display will show your weight, body fat, and BMI. The voice prompt function will announce the results.
  6. Your data will automatically synchronize with the Fitdays app on your paired smartphone.

6.2 Consistent Measurements

For the most consistent and comparable results, it is recommended to take measurements:

  • At the same time each day (e.g., in the morning before eating or drinking).
  • Under similar conditions (e.g., after using the restroom).
  • Without clothing, or with minimal, consistent clothing.

7. Understanding Your Measurements

The Posture Smart Scale provides 28 different body composition metrics. These metrics are calculated based on your bio-electrical impedance analysis (BIA) data and your profile information (age, gender, height). The Fitdays app offers detailed explanations and historical tracking for each metric.

9. Maintenance and Care

  • Cleaning: Wipe the scale surface with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the scale in water.
  • Storage: Store the scale in a cool, dry place. Avoid placing heavy objects on the scale when not in use.
  • Battery Replacement: If the display shows a low battery indicator or becomes dim, replace all four AA batteries simultaneously.
  • Calibration: If the scale is moved or stored vertically, it may require recalibration. Step on the scale briefly to turn it on, then step off and wait for it to display "0.0" before taking a measurement.
