6. Maintenance
6.1. Cleaning
- Wipe the scale body with a soft, damp cloth. Do not immerse the scale in water.
- The stainless steel platform can be removed and washed with mild soap and water, or placed in a dishwasher. Ensure it is completely dry before reattaching.
- Avoid using abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the surface and display.
6.2. Storage
Store the scale in a cool, dry place. If not in use for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage.
7. Troubleshooting
- Scale does not turn on: Check battery installation and ensure batteries are not depleted. If using AC power, verify the adapter is securely plugged into both the scale and the outlet.
- Inaccurate readings: Ensure the scale is placed on a flat, stable surface. Avoid placing it near strong electromagnetic fields or extreme temperature fluctuations.
- Display shows 'EEEE': This indicates an overload. Remove items from the scale immediately to prevent damage.
- Scale does not turn off with button (AC power): When powered by the AC adapter, the front TARE ON/OFF button only tares the scale. Use the physical on/off switch located on the back of the unit to power it off.
- Cannot change units while weighing: This is normal operation. Remove all items from the scale, change the unit, then place items back on the platform.
