The Foxgard Fingerprint Door Lock is designed for easy installation on most standard US doors. No special tools, drilling, or wiring are typically required beyond a screwdriver.

4.1 Door Compatibility Check

Before installation, ensure your door meets the following specifications:

• Door Thickness: 35mm (1.38 in) to 55mm (2.17 in)
• Latch Backset: Adjustable to 60mm (2.36 in) or 70mm (2.76 in)

4.2 Installation Steps

5. Operating Instructions

The Foxgard Smart Lock offers multiple convenient ways to access your space.

5.1 Unlocking Methods

You can unlock your door using any of the following methods:

• Fingerprint: Place your registered fingerprint on the sensor.
• Keypad Code: Enter your registered passcode on the backlit keypad.
• App Control: Unlock the door remotely via the mobile application.
• IC Card: Tap your registered IC card on the designated area.
• Mechanical Key: Use the physical backup key for traditional unlocking.

5.2 App Control Features

The mobile app provides comprehensive control and monitoring capabilities:

• Generate Passcodes: Create one-time, timed, or dynamic passcodes for guests, cleaners, or temporary access.
• Monitor Access Logs: View a history of who entered and when.
• Remote Control: Unlock or lock the door from anywhere (requires Foxgard Gateway, sold separately).
• Share Access: Easily share access credentials with authorized users.

5.3 Auto-Lock and Privacy Features

• Auto-Lock: The lock can be configured to automatically lock after a set period, ranging from 5 seconds to 2 minutes and 59 seconds, providing peace of mind.
• Anti-Peep Code: When entering your passcode, you can input random digits before or after your actual code to prevent others from guessing your entry sequence.
• Electronic Deadlock: Activate the built-in electronic deadlock from the inside for enhanced privacy, preventing entry even with valid credentials.

5.4 Voice Control (Optional)

For voice control functionality with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant, the Foxgard Gateway (sold separately) is required. This gateway enables integration with smart home ecosystems for convenient voice commands.

6. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and reliable performance of your Foxgard Fingerprint Door Lock.

6.1 Battery Information

• The lock is powered by 4 AA alkaline batteries (not included).
• Avoid using rechargeable batteries, as they may not provide consistent power.
• The lock will provide low-battery alerts when the power is running low. Replace batteries promptly.

6.2 Emergency Backup

• Mechanical Keys: Always keep the provided mechanical backup keys accessible outside the locked area for emergency entry.
• Emergency Charging: If batteries die completely, the lock can be temporarily powered via a power bank (not included) connected to the emergency charging port for unlocking. This is for temporary power only, not for charging the lock's internal battery.

7. Troubleshooting

• Lock Not Responding: Check battery levels. If low, replace batteries or use emergency charging. Ensure the lock is properly installed and all connections are secure.
• Fingerprint Not Recognized: Ensure your finger is clean and dry. Try re-registering your fingerprint if the issue persists. Ensure the sensor is clean.
• Keypad Not Responding: Verify battery levels. Ensure no debris is obstructing the buttons.
• App Connectivity Issues: Ensure your phone's Bluetooth is enabled and you are within range. If using the Foxgard Gateway, ensure it is properly connected to your network and the lock.
• Mechanical Key Not Working: Ensure the key is fully inserted and turned correctly. Do not force the key.
