5. Controls and Connections

This section details the various controls and connection points on your F7 mixer.

5.1 Input Channels (MIC 1-7)

6.5 Bluetooth Connection

  1. Press the MODE button on the digital MP3 player section to switch to Bluetooth mode. The display will show 'BLUE'.
  2. On your Bluetooth-enabled device (e.g., smartphone, tablet), search for available devices.
  3. Select the mixer's Bluetooth name (usually 'BT-AUDIO' or similar) to pair.
  4. Once connected, audio from your device will play through the mixer.

7. Operating Instructions

7.1 Basic Operation

  1. Power On: After all connections are made, turn on the mixer's power switch. The POWER LED will illuminate.
  2. Initial Levels: Set all channel faders and the MAIN fader to their lowest positions before playing audio.

7.2 Channel Control

  1. GAIN: Slowly increase the GAIN knob for each active input channel until the PEAK LED flashes only occasionally during the loudest parts of the signal.
  2. EQ: Use the HIGH, MID, and LOW knobs to shape the tone of each channel.
  3. PAN: Adjust the PAN knob to position the channel's sound in the stereo field.
  4. AUX/EFF: Use the AUX and EFF knobs to send a portion of the channel's signal to the auxiliary output or the internal effect processor, respectively.
  5. Channel Fader: Gradually raise the channel fader to bring the signal into the main mix.

7.3 Main Output Control

  1. Slowly raise the MAIN fader to achieve the desired overall output volume.
  2. Monitor the level meters to ensure the signal does not consistently peak into the red, which indicates clipping and distortion.

7.4 Digital MP3 Player Functions

  • MODE: Switches between USB, Bluetooth, and other available modes.
  • 1/◀◀ (Previous): Skips to the previous track.
  • 2/▶▶ (Play/Pause): Starts or pauses playback.
  • 3/►► (Next): Skips to the next track.
  • ENTER: Confirms selections in menu modes.

7.5 Reverb Effect Usage

  1. Use the EFF knob on individual channels to send signal to the built-in reverb.
  2. Adjust the master EFF SEND knob in the main section to control the overall level of the reverb effect in the mix.

7.6 Phantom Power Activation

If using condenser microphones, press the +48V phantom power switch. Ensure all microphones are connected before activating phantom power to prevent potential damage.

7.7 Monitoring with Headphones

Connect headphones to the PHONES jack and adjust the PHONE Level knob to set your monitoring volume. This allows you to listen to the main mix independently of the main output speakers.

8. Maintenance

8.1 Cleaning

  • Disconnect the mixer from power before cleaning.
  • Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior of the mixer.
  • Do not use liquid cleaners, solvents, or abrasive materials.
