1. Product Overview

2. Setup and Installation

2.1 Unpacking

Carefully remove the IQKP-915 keypad from its packaging. Verify that all components are present, including the keypad unit, mounting backplate, and any included screws or anchors.

2.2 Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the rear of the keypad.
  2. Open the compartment cover.
  3. Insert four (4) AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely. The keypad is designed for up to 3 years of battery life under normal usage.

2.3 Mounting the Keypad

The IQKP-915 is wall-mountable with a backplate, facilitating straightforward setup.

  2. Detach the mounting backplate from the keypad unit.
  3. Position the backplate on the wall at the desired height and mark the drilling points.
  4. Drill pilot holes if necessary and secure the backplate to the wall using appropriate screws and anchors.
  5. Align the keypad unit with the mounted backplate and slide it into place until it clicks securely.

2.4 Pairing with IQ Panel System

The IQKP-915 utilizes PowerG wireless technology for secure communication. It works seamlessly with IQ Panel 4, IQ4 Hub, IQ4 NS (with PowerG card), and IQ Pro systems.

  1. Put your IQ Panel system into "Add Device" or "Enrollment" mode (refer to your main IQ Panel manual for specific instructions).
  2. On the IQKP-915 keypad, follow the on-screen or indicator instructions to initiate the pairing process. This typically involves pressing a specific key combination or activating a learn button.
  3. Confirm successful pairing on both the IQ Panel and the IQKP-915 keypad. The keypad's status indicators should confirm connection.
  4. Test the keypad's functionality by arming and disarming the system from the IQKP-915.

3. Operating Instructions

The IQKP-915 features a capacitive touch interface for intuitive system control.

3.1 Arming the System

  • Arm Stay: Press the "Stay" button (often represented by a house icon or partial arm symbol) and enter your user code. This arms the perimeter while allowing movement inside.
  • Arm Away: Press the "Away" button (often represented by a full arm symbol) and enter your user code. This arms all sensors, including interior motion detectors.

3.2 Disarming the System

To disarm the system, press the "Disarm" button (often represented by an unlocked padlock icon) and enter your user code. The system will disarm, and the status indicator will change.

3.3 Emergency Alarms

The keypad allows users to trigger emergency alarms with ease. Specific buttons or key combinations are typically designated for:

  • Panic: Alerts monitoring station to a personal emergency.
  • Fire: Alerts monitoring station to a fire emergency.
  • Medical: Alerts monitoring station to a medical emergency.

3.4 Status Indicators

The keypad features LED indicators to display the system's current status:

  • Green Checkmark: System is disarmed and ready to arm.
  • Red Padlock: System is armed (either Stay or Away).
  • Amber Triangle: System trouble or fault (e.g., low battery, sensor open).

4. Maintenance

4.1 Battery Replacement

When the keypad's low battery indicator appears (often the amber triangle or a specific battery icon), it is time to replace the batteries. Replace all four (4) AA batteries simultaneously with new, high-quality alkaline batteries to ensure optimal performance and battery life.

4.2 Cleaning

To clean the keypad's surface, use a soft, dry, or slightly damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners, solvents, or aerosol sprays, as these can damage the capacitive touch interface and the keypad's finish.
