This manual provides detailed instructions for setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting your RUGLINE T14 device.

The scanner head houses the Zebra SE5500 scanning engine, capable of reading 1D and 2D barcodes from extended distances.

The ergonomic pistol grip is designed for comfortable handling during prolonged use, reducing user fatigue. The red trigger button activates the barcode scanner.

4. Setup Instructions

4.1. Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment at the base of the pistol grip.
  2. Slide the battery cover release latch to open the compartment.
  3. Insert the 9000mAh Lithium Polymer battery, ensuring the contacts align correctly.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover until it clicks securely into place.

4.2. Charging the Device

Before initial use, fully charge the device. Use only the standard adaptor and USB cable provided by RUGLINE.

  1. Connect the USB cable to the charging port on the device.
  2. Connect the other end of the USB cable to the power adaptor.
  3. Plug the power adaptor into a wall outlet.

A full charge typically takes 3-4 hours. The device supports Quick Charge 3.0. The 100mAh backup battery allows for hot-swapping the main battery without losing data or power.

4.3. Initial Power On

Press and hold the power button located on the side of the device until the screen illuminates. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the initial Android 14 setup.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Android 14 Interface

The RUGLINE T14 operates on Android 14, providing a familiar and intuitive user experience. Navigate using the touchscreen and physical buttons. For detailed Android OS instructions, refer to Google's official Android documentation.

5.2. Barcode Scanning

The integrated Zebra SE5500 scanner allows for efficient 1D and 2D barcode capture.

  1. Ensure the device is powered on and an application requiring barcode input is active.
  2. Point the scanner head towards the barcode.
  3. Press the red trigger button on the pistol grip to activate the scanner. A red aiming line will appear.
  4. Align the aiming line with the barcode. The device will emit a confirmation sound upon successful scan.

The Zebra SE5500 offers a long scanning range, up to 5 meters, facilitating scanning of items on high shelves or from a distance, such as from a forklift.

5.3. Software Compatibility

The Android 14 operating system ensures broad compatibility with various inventory management and business applications, including Inflow, Zoho, Sortly, Odoo, and Orcascan.

5.4. Data Transfer and Connectivity

The device supports multiple connectivity options for data transfer:

  • 4G: Utilize cellular networks for data transmission over a wide range of frequency bands (B1/2/3/4/5/7/8/12/17/20/34/38/39/40/41).
  • Bluetooth 5.2: Connect to other Bluetooth-enabled devices for faster transmission speeds and longer distances.
  • Wi-Fi: Connect to local wireless networks for internet access and data synchronization.
  • USB Cable: Connect to a computer via USB for direct data transfer and charging.

7. Troubleshooting
