4. Setup and Assembly

Assembly requires two people and basic tools such as a drill and a screwdriver. Follow these steps carefully:

  1. Prepare the Installation Area: Ensure the ground where the gate posts will be installed is level and stable. Mark the positions for the two gate posts, considering the total width of the gate (approximately 400 cm).
  2. Install Gate Posts: Securely anchor the two gate posts into the ground. Depending on your specific ground conditions, this may involve digging holes and setting the posts in concrete for maximum stability. Ensure the posts are plumb and at the correct distance apart to accommodate the gate panels.
  3. Attach Hinges: Mount the hinges to the gate posts and the gate panels. Ensure they are aligned correctly for smooth gate operation.
  4. Mount Gate Panels: Carefully lift and attach the gate panels to the hinges on the posts. Adjust as necessary to ensure the panels swing freely and meet correctly in the middle.
  5. Install Locking Mechanism: Attach the sliding bolt lock mechanism to one of the gate panels and the corresponding receiver on the other panel or the ground. Install the ground bolt for additional security.
  6. Final Adjustments: Check that both gate panels open and close smoothly. Ensure the locking mechanism engages properly and the ground bolt secures the gate when closed.

5. Operating Instructions

  • Opening the Gate: Disengage the sliding bolt lock and lift the ground bolt. Gently push the gate panels inwards or outwards, depending on hinge setup, to open.
  • Closing the Gate: Guide the gate panels back to their closed position. Ensure they meet correctly in the center.
  • Locking the Gate: Engage the sliding bolt lock by sliding it into its receiver. Lower the ground bolt into its designated hole for added security.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Clean the gate regularly with a soft cloth and mild soap and water. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that could damage the powder-coated finish.
  • Lubrication: Periodically lubricate hinges and the locking mechanism with a suitable outdoor lubricant to ensure smooth operation and prevent rust.
  • Inspection: Regularly check all bolts, screws, and connections for tightness. Re-tighten any loose fasteners. Inspect the gate for any signs of rust, damage, or structural fatigue.
  • Rust Prevention: Although powder-coated, minor scratches can expose the steel to moisture. Touch up any deep scratches with rust-inhibiting paint to prevent corrosion.
