This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your SZshufen 4G LTE Smart Dash Cam. 3. Product Features

3.1 Android 10.0 System & 4G LTE Connectivity

The dash cam operates on Android 10.0 with 2GB RAM and 32GB ROM, providing a stable platform for various applications, including navigation. It supports 4G LTE connectivity when a compatible US SIM card (T-Mobile/AT&T recommended, Verizon not supported) is inserted. This enables features such as live GPS tracking, cloud video backups, and remote viewing through a smartphone application. A subscription for the SIM card is required for 4G LTE services.

3.2 ADAS Safety Alerts & GPS Navigation

The Advanced Driver-Assistance System (ADAS) provides alerts for lane departures, potential forward collisions, and pedestrian detection. The integrated GPS antenna records route and speed data, while real-time navigation is available through compatible Android applications.

3.3 Two-Way Talk

The two-way talk feature allows remote communication with individuals near the vehicle via the Car Assist application. This functionality is active when the dash cam is connected via LTE. Ensure your smartphone's volume is not muted to hear audio during two-way communication.

3.4 Car Assist App & Remote Monitoring

The Car Assist application enables remote monitoring, including 24-hour parking surveillance. It provides alerts and allows live video streaming and GPS tracking via Google Maps on a smartphone. In the event of an accident, the app sends an alarm message to the user's mobile phone.

3.5 Dual Cameras: Front & Interior Recording

3.6 Emergency SOS Alarm Button

An SOS button is included to send alerts to designated emergency contacts in case of an incident. The 24/7 parking mode utilizes motion and impact detection to automatically record events when the vehicle is parked and the engine is off.

4. Setup

4.1 Installation

  1. Mounting the Dash Cam: Securely attach the dash cam to your vehicle's windshield using the provided car mount. Ensure it does not obstruct your view.
  2. Hardwire Kit Connection: The power cable is a hardwire kit. Connect it to your vehicle's power supply according to the wiring diagram in the separate hardwire kit instructions. Due to the complexity, professional installation is recommended.
  3. GPS Antenna Connection: Connect the GPS antenna to the designated port on the dash cam and position it for optimal signal reception, typically on the dashboard or windshield.
  4. SOS Alarm Button Connection: Connect the SOS alarm button to its port and place it in an easily accessible location within the vehicle.

4.2 SIM Card Insertion

  1. Locate the SIM card slot on the dash cam.
  2. Insert a compatible US SIM card (T-Mobile or AT&T recommended; Verizon is not compatible). Ensure the SIM card is correctly oriented.
  3. Close the SIM card slot cover securely.

4.3 Car Assist App Configuration

  1. Download the "Car Assist" application from your smartphone's app store.
  2. Register an account and follow the in-app instructions to pair your dash cam with your smartphone. This typically involves scanning a QR code displayed on the dash cam's screen.
  3. Configure remote monitoring settings, emergency contacts, and notification preferences within the app.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off

  • The dash cam will automatically power on when the vehicle's ignition is turned on, provided it is correctly hardwired.
  • To manually power off, press and hold the power button until the device shuts down.

5.2 Basic Recording

  • Upon powering on, the dash cam will automatically begin loop recording to the inserted 64GB SD card.
  • Front camera records in 1080P, and the interior camera records in 720P with IR night vision.

5.3 Using the Touch Screen

Navigate the dash cam's interface by tapping and swiping on the 3-inch touch screen. Access settings, view recorded footage, and manage applications directly from the display.

5.4 ADAS Functions

ADAS alerts for lane departure, forward collision, and pedestrian detection will activate automatically during driving. Ensure the camera lenses are clean and unobstructed for accurate detection.

5.5 GPS Navigation

Utilize pre-installed or downloaded navigation apps (e.g., Google Maps) on the Android system for turn-by-turn directions. The GPS antenna provides accurate location and speed data.

5.6 Parking Monitoring

When the vehicle is parked, the dash cam enters parking mode. Motion and impact detection will trigger recording, and alerts will be sent to your smartphone via the Car Assist app if an event occurs.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning Lenses: Regularly clean the front and interior camera lenses with a soft, dry cloth to ensure clear recording quality.
  • SD Card Management: Format the 64GB SD card periodically (e.g., monthly) to maintain optimal performance and prevent data corruption. Replace the SD card if it shows signs of wear or error.
  • Firmware Updates: Check for available firmware updates through the device settings or the Car Assist app to ensure the dash cam operates with the latest features and improvements.

7. Troubleshooting

7.1 Device Not Powering On

  • Ensure the hardwire kit is correctly installed and receiving power from the vehicle's electrical system.
  • Check all cable connections for looseness.
  • If professionally installed, contact the installer to verify wiring.

7.2 Recording Issues

  • Verify that the 64GB SD card is inserted correctly and is not full.
  • Format the SD card through the dash cam's settings. If issues persist, try a new, high-quality SD card.
  • Ensure lenses are clean and free from obstructions.

7.3 GPS Not Working

  • Ensure the GPS antenna is securely connected and positioned with a clear view of the sky.
  • Check GPS settings in the dash cam's menu to ensure it is enabled.

7.4 Car Assist App Connectivity Problems

  • Confirm that a compatible 4G SIM card is inserted and has an active data plan.
