3. Setup

1. Attach the Tripod: Securely screw the spotting scope onto the included tabletop tripod or any standard tripod using the tripod mounting plate on the underside of the scope.
2. Adjust Viewing Angle: Loosen the knob on the tripod head to adjust the scope's vertical and horizontal position. Tighten the knob once the desired angle is achieved. The scope's rotating mount ring allows for further adjustment of the eyepiece angle.
3. Remove Lens Covers: Remove the objective lens cover and the eyepiece cover.
4. (Optional) Attach Phone Holder:
   • Screw the phone holder onto the eyepiece.
   • Place your smartphone into the holder, ensuring the phone's camera lens is aligned with the spotting scope's eyepiece. Adjust the holder's clamps to secure the phone.

4. Operating Instructions

1. Adjusting the Eyecup: Rotate the twist-up eyecup counter-clockwise to extend it for comfortable viewing. If wearing eyeglasses, twist it down.
2. Adjusting Magnification: Rotate the magnification adjustment ring (located on the eyepiece) to select your desired magnification level between 25x and 75x.
3. Focusing:
   • Use the coarse focus knob (larger knob) for initial, rough focusing.
   • Use the fine focus knob (smaller knob) for precise, sharp focusing.
4. Using the Retractable Sunshade: Extend the sunshade by pulling it out from the objective lens barrel to reduce glare and protect the lens from rain or dust.
5. Using with Phone Holder: Once your phone is securely attached and aligned, open your phone's camera app. Adjust the phone's position and the scope's focus until the image is clear on your phone screen. You can then capture photos or videos.

5. Maintenance

• Cleaning Lenses: Use the provided lens cleaning cloth, lens pen, or air blower to gently remove dust and debris from the lenses. Avoid using abrasive cloths or harsh chemicals, which can damage the optical coatings.
• Cleaning Body: Wipe the body of the spotting scope with a soft, damp cloth.
• Storage: Always store the spotting scope in its protective carrying case when not in use. Keep it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
• Waterproof/Fogproof: The scope is designed to be waterproof and fogproof. However, avoid submerging it in water for extended periods. If the lenses become wet, dry them gently with a soft cloth.

6. Troubleshooting

• Image is Blurry:
  • Ensure both coarse and fine focus knobs are adjusted correctly.
  • Check that the eyecup is properly adjusted for your eye.
  • Clean the objective lens and eyepiece for any smudges or dust.
• Image is Dark:
  • Ensure the objective lens cover is fully removed.
  • Lower the magnification setting, as higher magnifications can reduce brightness, especially in low light.
  • Check ambient light conditions.
• Internal Fogging: The Gosky spotting scope is nitrogen-purged and O-ring sealed for fogproof performance. If internal fogging occurs, contact customer support. External condensation can be wiped away with a soft cloth.
