2. Safety Instructions

Always follow basic safety precautions to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and personal injury when using this electric tiller.

  • Personal Protective Equipment: Always wear appropriate safety glasses, sturdy footwear, and gloves when operating the tiller. Avoid loose clothing that could get caught in moving parts.
  • Electrical Safety: Ensure the power cord is in good condition and free from damage. Do not operate the tiller in wet conditions or near water. Use a residual current device (RCD) for added protection.
  • Accidental Start-up Prevention: The tiller is equipped with a 2-point switch to prevent accidental start-ups. Always ensure the switch is in the OFF position before connecting to power or performing maintenance.
  • Overheat Protection: The motor has overheat protection. If the unit stops during operation, allow it to cool down before attempting to restart.
  • Work Area: Keep children, pets, and bystanders at a safe distance from the operating area. Inspect the area for hidden obstacles such as rocks, roots, or buried cables before tilling.

5. Operating Instructions

Follow these steps for safe and effective operation of your electric tiller.

  1. Pre-Operation Check: Before each use, inspect the tiller for any loose parts, damaged tines, or frayed power cords. Ensure all fasteners are tight.
  2. Connect Power: Plug the tiller's power cord into a suitable outdoor-rated extension cord, ensuring the extension cord is rated for the tiller's power requirements (1050W). The tiller has a 10m cable length for extended reach.
  3. Starting the Tiller: With a firm grip on both D-grip handles, press and hold the safety button (if present) and then squeeze the trigger switch. The tines will begin to rotate.
  4. Tilling Technique: Guide the tiller slowly and steadily over the soil. Allow the tines to penetrate the ground. For best results, make overlapping passes. The tiller can cultivate a width of 32cm and a depth of up to 22cm. Do not force the tiller; let the machine do the work.
  5. Stopping the Tiller: Release the trigger switch to stop the tines. Disconnect the tiller from the power supply immediately after use and before any adjustments or cleaning.

  • Inspection: Periodically inspect the tines for wear or damage. Check the power cord for cuts, abrasions, or exposed wires. Ensure all nuts, bolts, and screws are tight.
  • Storage: Store the tiller in a dry, secure location, away from moisture and out of reach of children. Ensure the power cord is neatly coiled and not kinked.
