5. Setup and Installation

Before installation, ensure the power supply is disconnected to prevent electrical shock. The ZL-7801A is designed for panel mounting.

  1. Panel Preparation: Cut a rectangular opening in your control panel with dimensions of 71mm x 29mm (2.8 x 1.1 inches).
  2. Insert Controller: Carefully insert the ZL-7801A controller into the prepared opening.
  3. Secure Controller: Use the provided button snaps or mounting clips to secure the controller firmly in place.
  4. Wiring: Refer to the wiring diagram (typically found on the device casing or in a separate diagram) for correct connections. Connect the power supply (100-240V AC, 50/60Hz) to the designated terminals. Connect your heating, cooling, and humidity control loads to the respective output terminals (R1, R2, R3, R4, R5).
  5. Sensor Connection: Connect the temperature and humidity sensor to its dedicated input terminal. Ensure the sensor is placed in the environment where temperature and humidity are to be measured, avoiding direct sunlight or airflow that could affect readings.
    1. Ensure all connections are secure and insulated.
    2. Verify that the voltage and current ratings of your loads do not exceed the controller's output specifications.

6. Operating Instructions

The ZL-7801A features a digital display and four operation buttons: 'P' (Program/Set), 'Up Arrow', 'S' (Set/Confirm), and 'Down Arrow'.

6.1 Power On/Off

  • To power on, connect the device to a 100-240V AC power source. The display will illuminate.
  • To power off, disconnect the device from the power source.

6.2 Viewing Current Readings

Upon power-up, the display will typically show the current temperature and humidity readings from the connected sensor.

6.3 Setting Parameters

To enter the parameter setting mode:

  1. Press and hold the 'S' button for a few seconds until a parameter code appears on the display.
  2. Use the 'Up Arrow' and 'Down Arrow' buttons to navigate through the different parameter codes (e.g., F1, F2, H1, H2).
  3. Once the desired parameter code is displayed, press the 'S' button again to view its current value.
  4. Use the 'Up Arrow' and 'Down Arrow' buttons to adjust the value.
  5. Press the 'S' button to confirm the new value and save the setting.
  6. To exit the setting mode, press the 'P' button, or wait for a timeout.

6.4 Common Parameters (Example)

While specific parameter codes may vary, common settings include:

  • Set Temperature (ST): The target temperature for control.
  • Set Humidity (SH): The target humidity for control.
  • Temperature Hysteresis (dF): The difference between the set temperature and the temperature at which the heating/cooling output turns off.
  • Humidity Hysteresis (dH): The difference between the set humidity and the humidity at which the humidifying/dehumidifying output turns off.
  • Temperature Calibration (CA): Adjusts the temperature reading to match a known accurate thermometer.
  • Cooling Delay Protection (PT): Sets a delay time before the cooling output activates again, protecting the compressor.

Refer to the detailed parameter list provided with your specific unit for a complete guide to all adjustable settings.

7. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and accuracy of your ZL-7801A controller.

  • Cleaning: Periodically wipe the device and display with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Sensor Care: Keep the temperature and humidity sensor clean and free from dust or debris. Avoid exposing the sensor to extreme moisture or physical damage.
  • Connection Check: Annually inspect all wiring connections to ensure they are secure and free from corrosion.
  • Environmental Conditions: Ensure the controller operates within its specified working environment temperature and humidity ranges to prevent damage.
