Maintenance
Proper care will extend the life and appearance of your parasol.
Cleaning:
- Canopy: The polyester fabric is fade-resistant and UV-resistant. Clean with a soft brush or cloth, mild soap, and lukewarm water. Rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry completely before closing or storing. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Frame: Wipe the aluminum pole and frame with a damp cloth. Dry thoroughly to prevent water spots.
Storage:
- When not in use for extended periods, especially during off-season or inclement weather, close the parasol and store it in a dry, protected area.
- Consider using a protective cover (not included) to shield the parasol from dust, dirt, and prolonged sun exposure.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your parasol, refer to the following common solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Parasol does not open/close smoothly. | Obstruction in mechanism; dirt/debris; lack of lubrication. | Check for any visible obstructions. Clean the mechanism. Apply a silicone-based lubricant to moving parts if necessary. |
| Parasol feels unstable. | Inadequate base; loose pole connection; strong winds. | Ensure the parasol base is sufficiently heavy and stable for the parasol's size. Tighten all pole connections. Do not use in windy conditions. |
| Canopy fabric appears dirty or stained. | Environmental exposure; spills. | Clean the canopy as per the 'Maintenance' section using mild soap and water. |
