Setup and Installation

1. Site Selection

Choose a location that is clear of overhead power lines, trees, and other obstructions. Ensure adequate space for the flag to fly freely. Consider local regulations regarding flagpole installation.

2. Ground Sleeve Installation

  1. Dig a hole at least 1.7 feet deep and at least 3 times the diameter of the flagpole base.
  2. Place the ground sleeve into the hole. Ensure it is level and plumb.
  3. Fill the hole with concrete, ensuring the top of the ground sleeve is flush with the ground surface. Allow the concrete to cure completely before proceeding (typically 24-48 hours).

3. Assembling the Flag Pole

  1. Insert the bottom section of the telescoping pole into the cured ground sleeve.
  2. Attach the golden ball finial to the top of the uppermost pole section by screwing it clockwise until secure.
  3. Extend each telescoping section by pulling it upwards until it locks into place. Use the provided wrench to tighten the locking mechanisms if necessary.

Operating Instructions

Attaching Flags

The flagpole is designed to fly one or two flags simultaneously. Use the provided flag snaps/clips to attach your flags.

  1. For one flag: Attach the top grommet of the flag to the uppermost flag clip and the bottom grommet to a lower flag clip, ensuring the flag hangs freely.
  2. For two flags: Attach the top flag's top grommet to the uppermost clip and its bottom grommet to a middle clip. Attach the second flag's top grommet to the same middle clip (or a clip just below it) and its bottom grommet to the lowest clip.

The flagpole features a 360-degree rotating ring design to prevent flags from tangling around the pole, even in windy conditions.

Raising and Lowering the Pole

To raise the pole, extend each section upwards, twisting slightly until it locks into place. To lower, twist each section counter-clockwise to unlock and gently slide it down. The included wrench can assist with stubborn locks.

Half-Staff Positioning

To position the flag at half-staff, raise the flag to the peak of the pole for a moment, then lower it to the half-staff position. When lowering the flag from half-staff, raise it to the peak again before fully lowering it.

Maintenance

  • Regular Cleaning: Use mild soapy water and a soft brush to clean the flagpole surface. Rinse with water after cleaning.
  • Anti-Rust Treatment: Apply a non-corrosive rust inhibitor after cleaning to prevent oxidation on the aluminum pole.
  • Check Screws and Accessories: Periodically inspect and ensure tight fastening of screws and fittings on the flagpole.
  • Flag Care: Inspect flags regularly for wear and tear. Replace damaged flags to maintain appearance and integrity.
