5. Setup

5.1 Initial Placement

Place the dispenser on a stable, flat, and heat-resistant surface. Ensure there is adequate space around the unit for ventilation and easy access to the water source and power outlet. Keep it away from direct sunlight and heat sources.

5.2 Water Source Connection

The KEINVE AN881 offers two methods for water supply:

  1. Using Bottled Water: Remove the cap from a standard bottled water container (e.g., 5-gallon jug or smaller bottle). Attach the provided bottle adapter securely to the dispenser's water inlet. Invert the water bottle and place it onto the adapter. Ensure a tight seal to prevent leaks.
  2. Using External Water Source (Water Hose): Connect one end of the provided water hose to the dispenser's water inlet. Place the other end of the hose into a larger external water container. Ensure the hose is fully submerged and secured to prevent it from coming out.

5.3 Initial Cleaning and Flushing

Before first use, it is recommended to flush the system. Fill the dispenser with clean water (using either method above) and dispense water at the highest temperature setting (212°F) for at least two cycles. Discard this water. This helps to clean any manufacturing residues from the internal components.

6. Operating Instructions

The dispenser features a touch control panel for easy operation.

6.2 Temperature Selection

The KEINVE AN881 offers 5 precise temperature settings. Press the Function button (often indicated by a thermometer icon) repeatedly to cycle through the available temperatures:

  • 110°F (43°C) - Ideal for baby formula or warm drinks.
  • 140°F (60°C) - Suitable for green tea.
  • 176°F (80°C) - Good for black coffee or instant noodles.
  • 194°F (90°C) - For stronger teas.
  • 212°F (100°C) - Boiling water for instant meals or sterilizing.

The selected temperature will be displayed on the screen.

6.3 Dispensing Water

Once the desired temperature is selected, ensure the child lock is disengaged (see 6.4). Place a cup or container under the dispenser nozzle. Press the Dispense button (often integrated with the Power button or a separate icon) to start dispensing water. Press again to stop. The dispenser will heat and dispense water in approximately 1 second.

6.4 Child Lock Function

The child safety lock prevents accidental dispensing of hot water. When activated, the dispenser will not dispense water. To engage or disengage the child lock, press and hold the Child Lock button (indicated by a lock icon) for approximately two seconds. An indicator on the display will show whether the lock is active or inactive.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Cleaning the Exterior

Unplug the dispenser before cleaning. Wipe the exterior surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals. Ensure no water enters the control panel or electrical components.

7.2 Descaling

Over time, mineral deposits (limescale) can build up inside the dispenser, affecting performance. Descale the unit regularly, especially in areas with hard water.

  1. Unplug the dispenser and ensure it is cool.
  2. Prepare a descaling solution according to the manufacturer's instructions (e.g., a mixture of white vinegar and water, or a commercial descaling agent).
  3. Pour the descaling solution into the water reservoir.
  4. Plug in the dispenser and dispense the entire solution through the unit at the highest temperature setting.
  5. Repeat the process with clean water at least two to three times to thoroughly rinse out any descaling solution.
  6. Discard all dispensed water during the descaling and rinsing process.

7.3 Storage

If storing the dispenser for an extended period, ensure it is clean, dry, and empty of water. Store it in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.
