4. Setup Guide
4.1 Unpacking
Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Verify that all items listed in the product description are present. Keep the packaging for future transport or storage.
4.2 Connecting Audio Sources
The ZA3 amplifier supports both XLR balanced inputs and RCA inputs.
- XLR Input: Use the provided XLR cables to connect your balanced audio source (e.g., DAC, mixer) to the XLR IN ports on the rear panel of the ZA3. Ensure the cables are securely connected to the left (L) and right (R) channels.
- RCA Input: Alternatively, connect your RCA audio source to the RCA IN ports on the rear panel.
Use the XLR/RCA input mode switch on the front panel to select the active input source.
4.3 Connecting Speakers
The ZA3 amplifier offers flexible speaker connection options for both stereo and mono modes.
- Stereo Mode: Connect your left and right passive speakers to the SPEAKER OUT terminals on the rear panel. Ensure correct polarity (+ to + and - to -).
- Mono Mode (PBTL): For higher power output, you can configure the ZA3 in mono mode. Connect a single speaker to the MONO SPEAKER OUT terminals. If using two ZA3 units for a stereo mono setup, connect one speaker to each ZA3 unit configured in mono mode.
Use the Mono/Stereo output mode switch on the front panel to select the desired output configuration.
4.4 Power Connection
Connect the provided power adapter to the DC 24-48V Power In port on the rear panel of the amplifier. Plug the power adapter into a suitable wall outlet.
4.5 12V Trigger Connection (Optional)
If you have other audio equipment with a 12V trigger output, connect it to the 12V TRIGGER IN port on the ZA3. This allows for synchronized power on/off with other compatible devices.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Powering On/Off
Once all connections are secure, turn the Power/Volume knob clockwise to power on the amplifier. The indicator light will illuminate. To power off, turn the knob counter-clockwise until it clicks off.
5.2 Mode Selection
Use the Mono/Stereo output mode switch on the front panel to toggle between stereo and mono (PBTL) output modes based on your speaker configuration and desired power output.
5.3 Volume Adjustment
Adjust the audio output level by rotating the Power/Volume knob. Start with a low volume and gradually increase it to a comfortable listening level.

6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the amplifier and cables. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosols.
- Ventilation: Ensure the amplifier's side vents are not obstructed to allow for proper heat dissipation.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the amplifier and cables in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Cable Care: Avoid sharp bends or kinks in the XLR cables to prevent internal damage.
7. Troubleshooting
7.1 No Sound Output
- Check if the amplifier is powered on and the indicator light is illuminated.
- Verify that all audio cables (XLR/RCA, speaker cables) are securely connected to both the amplifier and the source/speakers.
- Ensure the correct input source (XLR or RCA) is selected via the front panel switch.
- Confirm that the volume knob is turned up.
- Test with a different audio source or speakers to isolate the issue.
7.2 Distorted Sound
- Reduce the volume level from both the amplifier and the audio source.
- Check for loose or damaged speaker wire connections.
- Ensure the speaker impedance matches the amplifier's specifications.
- Verify that the audio source is not sending an over-amplified signal.
7.3 Amplifier Overheating
- Ensure adequate ventilation around the amplifier. Do not place it in an enclosed space.
- Check that the side vents are not blocked by dust or other objects.
- Reduce the volume or usage time if the amplifier consistently runs hot.
