4. Setup

4.1. Installation

  1. Choose Placement: Select a suitable location on your dashboard or windshield that does not obstruct your view of the road.
  2. Attach Mount: Secure the suction cup mount to the chosen surface. Ensure the surface is clean and dry for optimal adhesion. Alternatively, use the provided anti-slip pad for dashboard placement.
  3. Position HUD: Attach the HUD unit to the mount. The mount allows for 360-degree rotation to adjust the viewing angle.
  4. Connect Power: Plug the provided USB cable into the HUD unit's Type-C port and connect the other end to your vehicle's USB port or a USB car charger.

4.2. Initial Power-On

Once connected, the HUD will automatically power on when the vehicle's ignition is turned on. It will begin searching for GPS signals. This process may take a few seconds. Ensure the device has a clear view of the sky for optimal signal acquisition.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Display Modes

The G21 HUD offers 6 customizable display modes. Use the multi-function dial keys (located on the back of the unit) to cycle through these modes:

  • Speed: Displays current speed only.
  • Time: Displays current time (satellite clock).
  • Speed + Travel Time: Shows current speed and duration of the current trip.
  • Speed + Distance Traveled + Ambient Lighting: Displays speed, trip distance, and indicates ambient light adjustment.
  • Speed + Total Mileage + Compass + Ambient Lighting: Shows speed, total odometer reading, compass direction, and ambient light adjustment.
  • Speed + Altitude + Compass + Ambient Lighting: Displays speed, current altitude, compass direction, and ambient light adjustment.

5.2. Unit Switching (MPH/KM/H)

The default speed unit is MPH. To switch between MPH and KM/H, refer to the detailed instructions in the included user manual for specific button presses on the multi-function dial keys.

5.3. Odometer Function (ODO)

The HUD tracks total mileage (ODO) which is automatically saved upon engine shutdown. A separate trip meter measures point-to-point journey distances and resets after each power cycle. The ODO can be manually set or reset via the menu options.

6. Safety Alerts

The G21 HUD includes two primary safety alert functions:

  • Overspeed Alert: You can set a custom speed threshold (default: 120 km/h or 75 mph). If your vehicle exceeds this speed, the HUD will trigger an audible and/or visual alarm.
  • Fatigue Driving Reminder: An alarm will automatically activate after 4 hours of continuous driving, reminding you to take a break.

These alerts are designed to enhance road safety and compliance. Settings for these alerts can be adjusted through the device's menu.
