1. Introduction

The WELL-KO-KO Tuya WiFi Smart Smoke Alarm is a battery-powered photoelectric smoke detector designed to enhance home safety. 2. Important Safety Information

Please read all instructions carefully before installation and operation. Failure to follow these instructions may result in improper operation of the alarm, leading to property damage, injury, or death.

• Do not paint the smoke alarm. Paint can clog the sensing chambers and prevent the alarm from operating correctly.
• Do not install in areas with high humidity, excessive dust, or extreme temperatures.

• This device is designed for indoor use only.
• Ensure the battery is installed correctly and replaced when the low battery alert is issued.

5. Setup and Installation

5.1 Battery Installation

1. Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the smoke alarm.
2. Insert a new 9V battery, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -).
3. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

5.2 Mounting the Smoke Alarm

1. Choose a suitable location for installation. Smoke alarms should be installed on every level of your home, inside each bedroom, and outside each sleeping area. Avoid installing near windows, doors, or air vents where drafts might interfere with smoke detection.
2. Using the mounting bracket as a template, mark the positions for drilling on the ceiling or wall.
3. Drill holes and insert the provided wall anchors if necessary.
4. Attach the mounting bracket using the screws.
5. Align the smoke alarm with the mounting bracket and twist clockwise until it locks into place.

5.3 App Pairing (Tuya Smart / Smart Life App)

The smoke alarm connects to your home Wi-Fi network (2.4GHz only) via the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app for remote monitoring and notifications.

1. Download the "Tuya Smart" or "Smart Life" app from your smartphone's app store (available on iOS and Android).
2. Register or log in to your account.
3. Ensure your phone is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network.
4. Open the app and tap "+" or "Add Device".
5. Select "Security & Video Surveillance" > "Smoke Detector (Wi-Fi)".
6. Follow the on-screen instructions to put the device into pairing mode (usually by pressing and holding the test button until an indicator light flashes rapidly).
7. Enter your Wi-Fi network password in the app.
8. Wait for the device to connect. Once connected, you can rename the device and assign it to a room.

6. Operation

6.1 Normal Operation

In normal operating mode, the smoke alarm continuously monitors for smoke. The LED indicator will flash periodically (e.g., every 30-40 seconds) to indicate proper functioning.

6.2 Alarm Function

When smoke is detected, the alarm will sound a loud 85dB siren, and the red LED indicator will flash rapidly. Simultaneously, if connected to Wi-Fi, the Tuya app will send instant push notifications to your smartphone, providing crucial early warning.

6.3 Test/Mute Button

The device features a "TEST/MUTE" button. Press this button to:

• Test the Alarm: In normal mode, press the button to initiate a self-test. The alarm will sound briefly, indicating that the sensor and siren are functioning correctly. It is recommended to test the alarm weekly.
• Mute the Alarm: If the alarm sounds due to a non-emergency situation (e.g., cooking fumes), press the button to temporarily silence the alarm. The alarm will automatically reset after a few minutes if the smoke clears.

7.1 Battery Replacement

The smoke alarm will emit a short chirp or send a low battery notification via the app when the battery needs replacement. Replace the 9V battery immediately to ensure continuous protection. Refer to section 5.1 for battery installation steps.

7.2 Cleaning the Smoke Alarm

Dust and debris can accumulate on the smoke alarm and affect its performance. Clean the smoke alarm at least once a month:

• Wipe the surface with a slightly damp cloth. Do not use cleaning solvents or harsh chemicals.
• Do not open the alarm's casing for cleaning.
