3. Setup and Wiring

Proper connection of the ZK-PRO1 board is crucial for optimal performance. Please follow the instructions carefully.

3.1 Power Supply Connection

Important: The ZK-PRO1 requires a DC power supply with an input voltage between 12V and 30V. AC power supply is strictly prohibited and will damage the device.

Connect the positive pole of your DC power supply to the designated power input terminal on the board. The board's working current is 28mA.

3.2 Audio Input

The audio input interface is an XH2.54-3P terminal. A 30cm dual-shielded cable is provided for this connection. This input should be connected to the audio source (e.g., a pre-amplifier or audio player). If you need to convert the XH2.54-3P to a 3.5mm audio head cable, you will need to acquire one separately.

3.3 Audio Output

The ZK-PRO1 offers two types of audio output:

  • Audio Differential/Balanced Output: Three XH2.54-3P terminals are provided for left, right, and subwoofer channels. These outputs are designed to connect to pure rear-stage power amplifiers that have balanced input ports.
  • Audio Single-Ended/Unbalanced Output: Two XH2.54-3P terminals are available for left and right stereo, and a separate terminal for the subwoofer. These can be connected to pure downstream power amplifiers such as the ZK-1602 and ZK-3002. Two free 3P dual-head audio cables are included for these connections.

Refer to the wiring diagram provided in the product documentation for detailed connection instructions. Ensure all connections are secure before powering on the device.

4. Operating Instructions

The ZK-PRO1 features five potentiometers for precise control over your audio output:

  • MAIN VOL: Adjusts the overall master volume of the stereo output.
  • BASS: Controls the low-frequency (bass) level of the stereo output.
  • TRE: Adjusts the high-frequency (treble) level of the stereo output.
  • SUB VOL: Controls the volume level of the subwoofer output.
  • SUB FREQ: Adjusts the crossover frequency for the subwoofer, determining the range of low frequencies sent to the subwoofer.

Rotate the potentiometers clockwise to increase the respective parameter and counter-clockwise to decrease it. Experiment with the settings to achieve your desired sound profile.

5. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your ZK-PRO1 HiFi Front Tone Board, please observe the following maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to gently wipe the surface of the board. Avoid using liquid cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the components.
  • Environment: Operate the board in a clean, dry environment. Avoid exposure to excessive dust, moisture, or extreme temperatures.
  • Handling: Handle the board with care to prevent physical damage to components or connections. Avoid bending or dropping the board.
  • Power Off: Always disconnect the power supply before performing any cleaning or maintenance.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your ZK-PRO1 board, consider the following common troubleshooting steps:

  • No Power/Device Not Turning On:
    • Ensure the power supply is DC and within the 12-30V range. AC power will prevent the device from operating and may cause damage.
    • Verify that the power connections are secure and correctly polarized.
  • No Audio Output or Distorted Sound:
    • Check all audio input and output connections for proper seating and correct wiring.
    • Ensure the audio cables are not damaged.
    • Verify that the connected power amplifier is functioning correctly.
    • Adjust the volume potentiometers (MAIN VOL, SUB VOL) to appropriate levels.
    • Check the source audio signal for issues.
  • Unexpected Noise or Hum:
    • Ensure all cables are properly shielded and away from sources of electromagnetic interference.
    • Verify that the power supply is stable and free from ripple.
    • Check for ground loop issues in your audio setup.

If problems persist after following these steps, please contact customer support for further assistance.
