It features a separated controller for flexible setup and operation, offering a wide range of color temperatures, dimming options, and creative lighting effects.

2. What's in the Box

Upon unboxing your NEEWER HS200C, please verify that all the following components are included:

  • 1 x HS200C RGB Light Unit
  • 1 x Controller
  • 1 x Reflector
  • 1 x Bracket
  • 1 x DMX Cable
  • 1 x Power Cable
  • 1 x Carrying Bag

3. Setup Guide

Follow these steps to set up your NEEWER HS200C LED Video Light:

  1. Attach the Bracket: Secure the included bracket to the bottom of the light unit. This bracket allows for mounting on a light stand.
  2. Mount on a Light Stand: Place the light unit, with the bracket attached, onto a compatible light stand. Tighten the mounting knob on the bracket to secure the light.
  3. Connect the Controller: Connect the light unit to the separate controller using the provided cable. Ensure the connection is firm. The controller can be attached to the light stand or hung using its belt loop for convenience.
  4. Attach the Reflector: Align the Bowens mount on the reflector with the Bowens mount on the front of the light unit. Twist the reflector clockwise until it clicks into place, securing it.
  5. Power Connection:
    • AC Power (Indoor Use): Connect the power cable to the controller and then plug it into a standard AC outlet.
    • V-Mount Battery (Outdoor Use): If using V-mount batteries (sold separately), attach the battery to the V-mount battery plate on the controller.

4. Operating Instructions

The HS200C offers multiple ways to control its functions. This section covers basic operation using the control panel.

4.1 Power On/Off

Locate the power button on the controller. Press and hold the power button for a few seconds to turn the light on or off. The color display on the controller will illuminate upon power-on.

4.2 Navigating the Control Panel

The controller features an intuitive color display and control knobs/buttons for easy adjustments. Use the main knob to navigate through menus and adjust parameters. Press the knob to confirm selections.

4.3 Adjusting Brightness and Color Temperature (CCT Mode)

In CCT (Correlated Color Temperature) mode, you can adjust both brightness and color temperature:

  • Brightness: Rotate the main knob to adjust the brightness from 0% to 100%.
  • Color Temperature: Navigate to the color temperature setting and rotate the knob to select a value between 2500K (warm) and 7500K (cool).

5. Lighting Modes and Effects

The HS200C offers a variety of lighting modes and built-in effects to enhance your creative possibilities.

5.1 Lighting Modes

Switch between the following 7 lighting modes to achieve different lighting styles:

  • CCT Mode: Standard Correlated Color Temperature mode for adjusting white light from warm to cool.
  • HSI Mode: Hue, Saturation, and Intensity mode for full color control (0-360° hue, 0-100% saturation, 0-100% brightness).
  • RGBCW Mode: Red, Green, Blue, Cold White, Warm White control for precise color mixing.
  • XY Mode: Professional color space mode for precise color point selection.
  • GEL Mode: Simulates various color gels for creative lighting.
  • SOURCE Mode: Offers 17 preset light sources to mimic common lighting environments.
  • FX Mode: Provides 18 built-in scene effects for dynamic lighting.

5.2 Scene Effects (FX Mode)

The FX mode includes 18 dynamic scene effects to simulate various real-world lighting scenarios, such as lightning, police car, fire, and more. Select the FX mode on the controller or app and choose your desired effect.

5.3 Dimming Curves

The HS200C offers 4 dimming curves for precise light control:

  • Linear: Even brightness change across the dimming range.
  • S-curve: Gradual change at low and high ends, faster in the middle.
  • Logarithmic: More sensitive at lower brightness levels.
  • Exponential: More sensitive at higher brightness levels.

6. Control Modes

Beyond the on-panel controls, the HS200C supports advanced control methods for professional workflows.

6.1 DMX Console Control

For professional studio and stage lighting setups, the HS200C can be integrated into a DMX system. Use the included DMX cable to connect the light to a DMX console for precise light effect programming and synchronization with other DMX-compatible equipment.

6.2 NEEWER Infinity APP Control

Download the NEEWER Infinity app on your smartphone or tablet for smart wireless control. The app allows for comprehensive adjustment of all light parameters, including modes, brightness, color, and effects, from a distance.

6.3 2.4G Wireless Control

The 2.4G mode enables synchronization and group control of multiple HS200C lights or other compatible NEEWER LED lights. Set all lights to the same channel for efficient group management, ideal for multi-light setups.

7. Heat Dissipation

The HS200C is equipped with built-in cooling fans to ensure efficient heat dissipation and stable performance, especially during extended use or at high power outputs. It offers three fan modes:

  • Silent Mode (100W): Optimized for quiet operation, suitable for sound-sensitive environments.
  • Constant Mode (210W): Provides balanced cooling for regular use.
  • Booster Mode (280W): Maximizes cooling performance for full power output.

8. Versatile Setup and Accessories (Bowens Mount)

The HS200C features a standard Bowens mount, allowing for compatibility with a wide range of lighting modifiers and accessories. This expands your creative options significantly.

  • Standard Reflector: The included reflector enhances and uniforms the light output.
  • Softboxes: Attach various softboxes (e.g., NS20L Quick Release Softbox, NS6P Quick Release Softbox - sold separately) to create soft, diffused light.
  • Lantern Softboxes: For omnidirectional light spread.
  • Honeycombs: To control light spill and create directional light.
  • Snoots: For highly focused, spot lighting (e.g., NK-NALTP Aluminum Alloy Snoot - sold separately).
  • Beauty Dishes: For a unique, flattering light quality.
  • Umbrella Holder: The bracket includes an umbrella holder to secure photography umbrellas for additional light modification.

9. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your NEEWER HS200C LED Video Light.

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the light unit and controller. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Lens Care: Gently wipe the LED lens with a microfiber cloth if dust or smudges are present. Avoid touching the lens directly with your fingers.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the light and its accessories in the provided carrying bag in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and excessive humidity.
  • Ventilation: Ensure the cooling vents on the light and controller are not obstructed during operation to allow for proper airflow.
  • Cable Management: Avoid sharp bends or kinks in the power and DMX cables to prevent damage.

10. Troubleshooting

This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your HS200C LED Video Light.
