3. Setup

3.1 Battery Installation

1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the timer.
2. Open the battery cover.
3. Insert two (2) new AA alkaline batteries (not included), ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
4. Close the battery cover securely to maintain the IPX5 waterproof rating.

3.2 Attaching to Faucet

1. Ensure the faucet is turned off.
2. If necessary, apply the provided PTFE tape to the faucet threads for a watertight seal.
3. Screw the timer onto your outdoor faucet (standard 3/4 inch thread). Hand-tighten only; do not overtighten.
4. If your faucet has a different thread size, use the included converter (thread reducer) first, then attach the timer.

3.3 Attaching Hose

1. Attach your garden hose to the outlet of the sprinkler timer.
2. Ensure a secure connection to prevent leaks.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Initial Setup and Time Setting

Upon battery installation, the LCD will display the current time. Use the +/- buttons to adjust the time and SET/OK to confirm.

4.2 Programming Automatic Watering

The timer allows you to set a start time, watering duration, and frequency.

1. Press SET/OK to enter programming mode.
2. Set Start Time: Use +/- to adjust the desired start time for watering. Press SET/OK to confirm.
3. Set Watering Duration (HOW LONG): Use +/- to set the watering duration from 1 minute to 360 minutes. Press SET/OK to confirm.
4. Set Watering Frequency (HOW OFTEN): Use +/- to set the frequency. You can choose from 1 hour to 23 hours, or 1 day to 15 days. Press SET/OK to confirm.
5. Once all settings are confirmed, the timer will return to the main display and begin its programmed schedule.

4.3 Manual Watering

To water manually without affecting your programmed schedule:

1. Press the ESC/MANUAL button.
2. Use +/- to set the desired manual watering duration.
3. Press SET/OK to start manual watering.
4. To stop manual watering, press ESC/MANUAL again.

4.4 Rain Delay Function

To temporarily pause your watering schedule due to rain:

1. Press and hold the ESC/MANUAL button for a few seconds until the rain delay option appears.
2. Use +/- to select the delay duration (24, 48, or 72 hours).
3. Press SET/OK to confirm the rain delay. The timer will resume its schedule automatically after the selected delay period.

4.5 Low Power Protection

The timer is equipped with a low power protection feature. When the battery level is critically low, the timer will automatically shut off all valves to prevent continuous watering and conserve remaining power. Replace batteries promptly when the low battery indicator appears on the LCD.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Battery Replacement

Replace batteries when the low battery indicator appears on the LCD. Always use new AA alkaline batteries. Refer to Section 3.1 for battery installation instructions.

5.2 Cleaning the Filter Washer

Periodically check and clean the filter washer located at the water inlet to prevent debris from clogging the timer and affecting water flow. Remove the timer from the faucet, take out the washer, rinse it under running water, and reinsert it before reattaching the timer.

5.3 Winterization

Before the first frost, disconnect the timer from the faucet and hose. Drain any remaining water from the unit and store it indoors in a dry, frost-free location. Remove batteries if storing for an extended period.

6. Troubleshooting

• No water flow:
  • Check if the faucet is fully open.
  • Ensure batteries are installed correctly and have sufficient charge.
  • Clean the filter washer for any blockages.
  • Verify that the watering schedule is correctly programmed and not in rain delay mode.
• Timer not turning on/LCD blank:
  • Replace batteries with new ones.
  • Ensure batteries are inserted with correct polarity.
• Leaks from connections:
  • Ensure all connections are hand-tight.
  • Check for damaged washers or O-rings. Replace if necessary.
  • Reapply PTFE tape to faucet threads if needed.
• Watering schedule not accurate:
  • Recheck your programmed start time, duration, and frequency settings.
  • Ensure the current time on the timer is accurate.
