Setup

  1. Unpack the Pen: Carefully remove the pen from its velvet pouch.
  2. Inspect for Damage: Before first use, visually inspect the pen for any signs of damage during transit.
  3. Initial Ink Flow: The pen comes with a black ink refill pre-installed. To ensure smooth ink flow, gently scribble on a piece of scrap paper for a few seconds.

Operating Instructions

The BPT Pen No 505 Sierra features a reliable twist-action mechanism for extending and retracting the pen tip.

  1. Extend the Pen Tip: Hold the pen firmly. Twist the upper barrel (the section above the grip) clockwise until the pen tip extends fully.
  2. Retract the Pen Tip: To retract the tip, twist the upper barrel counter-clockwise until the tip is fully withdrawn into the pen body.
  3. Writing: Apply light to moderate pressure while writing. The pen is designed for smooth, consistent ink delivery.

Refill Replacement

The BPT Pen No 505 Sierra uses standard Parker-style compatible ballpoint pen refills. Black ink is included, but other colors are available separately.

  1. Disassemble the Pen: Gently unscrew the pen at the central band, separating the upper and lower barrels.
  2. Remove Old Refill: Carefully pull out the old ink refill from the lower barrel.
  3. Insert New Refill: Insert the new Parker-style compatible refill into the lower barrel, ensuring it is seated correctly.
  4. Reassemble the Pen: Screw the upper and lower barrels back together until secure. Do not overtighten.
  5. Test: Test the new refill by twisting the pen and writing on scrap paper.
