5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Cooking Rice

The Profi Cook PC-RK 1285 is designed for various rice types, including sushi rice, jasmine rice, and whole grain rice, ensuring uniform results.

  1. Measure Rice: Use the provided measuring cup to measure the desired amount of rice. One full cup (160ml) typically yields about 2-3 servings of cooked rice. The cooker can handle up to 1300g of raw rice (approximately 3000g cooked).
  2. Rinse Rice: Rinse the rice thoroughly under cold running water until the water runs clear. This removes excess starch and prevents sticking.
  3. Add Water: Place the rinsed rice into the inner pot. Add the appropriate amount of water. A common ratio is 1:1.5 (1 cup rice to 1.5 cups water), but this can vary based on rice type and personal preference. Refer to the rice packaging for specific recommendations.
  4. Place Inner Pot: Ensure the exterior of the inner pot is dry, then place it into the main unit.
  5. Close Lid: Close the lid securely.
  6. Start Cooking: Plug in the appliance. Press the main switch down to the "COOK" position. The "COOK" indicator light will illuminate.
  7. Automatic Keep Warm: Once the rice is cooked, the appliance will automatically switch to the "WARM" function, and the "WARM" indicator light will illuminate. This function keeps the rice warm and ready to serve without overcooking.
  8. Serve: Use the provided rice spoon to fluff and serve the rice. Avoid using metal utensils that could damage the non-stick coating.

  2. Prepare Food: Place vegetables, fish, or other food items into the steaming insert. Ensure food is cut into uniform pieces for even cooking.
  3. Assemble: Place the inner pot with water into the main unit, then place the steaming insert on top of the inner pot.
  4. Close Lid: Close the lid securely.
  5. Start Steaming: Plug in the appliance and press the main switch down to the "COOK" position. The "COOK" indicator light will illuminate.
  6. Monitor: Steaming times vary depending on the food type and quantity. Check food periodically for desired doneness.
