4. Setup

4.1 Charging the Device

  1. Connect the USB charging cable to the charging port on the camera.
  2. Plug the other end of the cable into a compatible USB power adapter (not included) or a powered USB port.
  3. The indicator light will show charging status. Charge the device fully before first use.

4.2 Downloading the Mobile App

  1. Scan the QR code provided in the quick start guide or search for the designated app name (e.g., 'PetCam Connect' or similar, refer to packaging) in your smartphone's app store (App Store for iOS, Google Play Store for Android).
  2. Download and install the app.
  3. Register a new account or log in if you already have one.

4.3 Pairing the Device with the App

  1. Ensure your smartphone is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. (5GHz networks are not supported).
  2. Power on the Robot Pet Camera.
  3. Open the mobile app and follow the on-screen instructions to add a new device.
  4. You may be prompted to scan a QR code on the camera or enter a device ID.
  5. Once connected, the camera's indicator light will change, and you will see the live feed in the app.

4.4 Initial Placement

Place the camera on a flat, stable surface in an area where you wish to monitor. Ensure it has a clear line of sight and is within range of your Wi-Fi network.

5. Operating

5.1 App Interface Overview

The mobile app provides access to all camera functions. Familiarize yourself with the layout:

  • Live View: Displays real-time video feed from the camera.
  • Directional Controls: Joystick or arrow buttons to move the camera.
  • Microphone/Speaker: Buttons for two-way audio communication.
  • Record/Snapshot: Capture video or still images.
  • Settings: Access camera configurations, Wi-Fi settings, and more.

5.2 Remote Movement

Use the directional controls within the app to move the camera around your home. The track wheels allow for smooth navigation.

5.3 Two-Way Audio

Tap the microphone icon in the app to speak through the camera's speaker. Tap the speaker icon to listen to audio from the camera's environment.

5.4 Motion Tracking and Auto Patrol

Enable motion tracking in the app settings to have the camera automatically follow detected movement. Configure auto patrol routes for scheduled surveillance of specific areas.

5.5 Night Vision

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

Wipe the camera's exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials. Ensure the lenses are clean for optimal image quality.

6.2 Battery Care

To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. Charge the device regularly, especially if it will be stored for an extended period.

6.3 Software Updates

Check the mobile app regularly for firmware updates. Keeping the camera's software up-to-date ensures optimal performance and security.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Camera not connecting to Wi-Fi:
    • Ensure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4GHz.
    • Check Wi-Fi password accuracy.
    • Move the camera closer to the router.
    • Restart the camera and your router.
  • Poor video quality:
    • Check your internet connection speed.
    • Clean the camera lenses.
    • Ensure adequate lighting for non-night vision mode.
  • Camera not moving:
    • Check battery level.
    • Ensure there are no obstructions on the floor.
    • Restart the camera and the app.
  • Two-way audio not working:
    • Check microphone and speaker permissions for the app on your phone.
    • Ensure volume levels are adjusted correctly in the app and on your phone.
