1. Introduction
The Beetech B-105 Digital Lux Meter is an instrument designed for measuring light intensity. It is suitable for various applications requiring light quality control, such as in factories, schools, and construction sites. This meter provides accurate measurements of illuminance in both Lux and Foot-candle (Fc) units.
2. What's in the Box
Upon unpacking, please verify that all components are present:
- Beetech B-105 Digital Lux Meter Unit
- Detachable Photo Detector Probe
- Battery
- User Manual
3. Setup
3.1 Battery Installation
Locate the battery compartment on the back of the meter. Open the compartment cover, insert the provided battery, ensuring correct polarity. Close the cover securely.
3.2 Probe Connection
Connect the detachable photo detector probe to the designated port on the main meter unit. Ensure the connection is firm to prevent inaccurate readings.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Power On/Off
Press the POWER button to turn the meter on or off. The meter will automatically shut down after approximately 15 minutes of inactivity to conserve battery life. This auto-power-off feature can be disabled if continuous operation is required (refer to advanced settings in the full manual).
4.2 Measurement Units (Lux/Fc)
Press the UNIT button to switch between Lux and Foot-candle (Fc) measurement units. The selected unit will be displayed on the LCD.
4.3 Range Selection
The meter features 4-level selectable measurement ranges and automatic measurement. The device can automatically select the appropriate range for the light intensity being measured. Manual range selection may also be available for specific applications (refer to the full manual for details).
4.4 Data Hold
Press the HOLD button to freeze the current reading on the display. Press it again to release the hold function and resume live measurements.
4.5 MAX/MIN Record
Press the MAX/MIN button to enter the maximum/minimum recording mode. The meter will display the highest (MAX) or lowest (MIN) light intensity recorded since entering this mode. Press the button repeatedly to cycle through MAX, MIN, and normal measurement modes.
4.6 Peak-Hold
The peak-hold function captures and displays the highest instantaneous light intensity. Refer to the full manual for specific instructions on activating and using this feature.
4.7 Backlight Display
The meter features a backlight display for improved visibility in low-light conditions. Activate the backlight as needed (refer to the full manual for button assignment).
4.8 Low Battery Indication
A low battery indicator will appear on the LCD when the battery power is insufficient. Replace the battery promptly to ensure accurate measurements.
5. Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning
Wipe the meter and probe with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Keep the photo detector lens clean and free from dust or smudges to ensure accurate readings.
5.2 Storage
When not in use, store the meter in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. The recommended storage conditions are -20℃ to 60℃ and 10%RH to 75%RH. Remove the battery if the meter will not be used for an extended period.
6. Troubleshooting
- Meter does not power on: Check if the battery is correctly installed and has sufficient charge. Replace the battery if necessary.
- Inaccurate readings: Ensure the photo detector probe is clean and properly connected. Verify that the measurement range is appropriate for the light source.
- Display shows "OL" or "LO": "OL" indicates an over-range condition (light intensity exceeds the meter's maximum range). "LO" or "UNDER" indicates an under-range condition (light intensity is below the meter's minimum range). Adjust the measurement range or move to a different light condition.
- Meter shuts off unexpectedly: The auto-power-off feature may be active. If continuous operation is required, disable this feature (refer to the full manual).
