Image: Detailed view of the YNAK Air Quality Monitor's display.

  • PM1.0, PM2.5, PM10: Displays particulate matter concentrations in µg/m³. A "GOOD" indicator suggests healthy levels.
  • HCHO: Formaldehyde concentration in mg/m³. An "OK" indicator suggests acceptable levels.
  • CO2: Carbon Dioxide concentration in PPM (parts per million). A "POOR" indicator suggests high levels.
  • TVOC: Total Volatile Organic Compounds concentration in mg/m³. An "OK" indicator suggests acceptable levels.
  • TEMP: Temperature reading in °C or °F.
  • HUMI: Humidity percentage (%).
  • Time: Current time (AM/PM).
  • AQI: Air Quality Index, displayed with a color-coded scale (0-50 Good, 51-100 Moderate, 101-150 Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups, 151-200 Unhealthy, 201-300 Very Unhealthy, 301-500 Hazardous).
  • Battery Indicator: Shows current battery level.
  • Speaker Icon: Indicates alert sound status.

4.2 Parameter Interpretation

Understanding the readings is crucial for maintaining a healthy indoor environment:

  • PM2.5/PM10: Fine particulate matter that can penetrate deep into the lungs. Lower values are better.
  • HCHO (Formaldehyde): A common indoor air pollutant from building materials and furniture. High levels can cause respiratory issues.
  • TVOC (Total Volatile Organic Compounds): A group of chemicals emitted from various products. High levels can cause irritation and health effects.
  • CO2 (Carbon Dioxide): High levels can indicate poor ventilation, leading to drowsiness and reduced concentration.
  • AQI (Air Quality Index): A standardized scale that combines multiple pollutants into a single number, indicating overall air quality and associated health risks.

4.3 AQI Alerts and Mute Function

The monitor features 7 distinct alert functions for various pollutants and AQI levels. When a parameter exceeds a predefined safe threshold, an audible alarm will sound, and the corresponding indicator on the display may change color (e.g., "POOR" for CO2). To silence an alarm, press the mute button (refer to the device's physical buttons for location, typically a dedicated button or a multi-function button).

4.4 Temperature Unit Selection

To switch between Fahrenheit (°F) and Celsius (°C) temperature units, simply click the 'Power button' once while the device is on. The display will update to show the selected unit.

4.5 Display Brightness Adjustment

The monitor offers three brightness settings for its 7-inch LED display. Consult the device's physical buttons or on-screen menu (if applicable) for instructions on how to cycle through these settings to suit your viewing preference.

5. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the display and exterior of the monitor. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials, as they may damage the device.
  • Sensor Care: To ensure accurate readings, avoid placing the monitor near strong odors, perfumes, aerosols, or areas with high dust concentration, as these can interfere with sensor performance.
  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the monitor in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

6. Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Inaccurate or inconsistent readings
  • Interference from strong odors (perfumes, cleaning agents).

  • Device not properly calibrated (though typically factory calibrated).
  • Move the monitor to a neutral environment away from sources of interference.
  • Ensure adequate ventilation in the room.
  • Allow the device to stabilize for 5-10 minutes after powering on.
Device does not turn on
  • Battery is depleted.
  • Charging cable or adapter issue.
  • Connect the device to the charging adapter and allow it to charge for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power on.
  • Ensure the charging cable and adapter are securely connected and functional.
Short battery life
  • Battery not fully charged.
  • High display brightness setting.
  • Ensure the device is fully charged before cordless use.
  • Adjust the display brightness to a lower setting to conserve battery.
