1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the safe and efficient operation, installation, and maintenance of your RUWORA 30-Pint Dehumidifier, Model PD8R-05BE. Please read this manual thoroughly before using the appliance and retain it for future reference.

2. Important Safety Instructions

To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury, observe the following safety precautions:

  • Read all instructions before using this appliance.
  • This dehumidifier is designed to operate in environments between 41 ℉ (5°C) and 95 ℉ (32°C).
  • Before plugging in the unit, ensure it has been standing upright and outside its packaging for at least 24 hours. This allows the refrigerant to settle.
  • Always close doors and windows in the area where the dehumidifier is operating to ensure optimal performance.
  • Do not operate the dehumidifier with a damaged cord or plug.
  • Do not insert fingers or foreign objects into the air inlet or outlet.
  • Unplug the appliance before cleaning or performing any maintenance.
  • Keep the appliance away from water and other liquids.

3. Product Overview

3.1 Components

3.2 Control Panel

  • Display Screen: Shows current humidity, timer settings, and error codes.
  • Humidity Setting Button: Adjusts target humidity (30%-90% RH in 5% increments).

4. Setup

  1. Unpack the Dehumidifier: Carefully remove the unit from its packaging.
  2. Allow to Stand Upright: Place the dehumidifier in an upright position for at least 24 hours before plugging it into a power outlet. This ensures the compressor oil settles correctly.
  3. Positioning: Place the dehumidifier on a level surface in the desired location. Ensure there is adequate space around the unit for proper airflow (at least 8 inches from walls or furniture).
  4. Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet (120V AC).

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off

Press the Power button on the control panel to turn the dehumidifier on or off.

5.2 Setting Desired Humidity

Press the SETTING button repeatedly to adjust the target humidity level. The humidity can be set between 30% and 90% Relative Humidity (RH) in 5% increments. The unit will automatically stop dehumidifying when the set humidity is reached and restart when the humidity rises above the set level.

5.3 RGB Humidity Indicator

The indicator ring on the front of the unit provides a quick visual reference for the current indoor humidity:

  • Red: Humidity > 65% (High Humidity)
  • Green: Humidity 40% - 65% (Ideal Range)
  • Blue: Humidity < 40% (Low Humidity)

5.4 Fan Speed Control

Press the Fan Speed button to toggle between two available fan speeds (High and Low). Lower fan speed results in quieter operation.

5.5 24-Hour Timer Function

Press the Timer button to set a desired time (in hours) for the unit to automatically turn on or off. This allows for scheduled operation.

5.6 Operating Modes

The dehumidifier offers three distinct operating modes:

  • AU Mode (Automatic Mode): Designed to maintain a comfortable humidity level, often suitable for general living spaces like bedrooms.
  • CO Mode (Continuous Operation Mode): Ideal for drying clothes or maintaining very low humidity, such as in closets or laundry rooms.
  • Self-Setting Mode: Allows users to manually set their preferred target humidity level for customized comfort.

6. Drainage Options

The RUWORA dehumidifier offers two methods for water removal:

6.1 Manual Drainage (Water Tank)

The unit features a 2.3L (0.52-gallon) water tank. When the tank is full, the dehumidifier will automatically turn off, illuminate the "Full" indicator, and sound an alarm (three beeps). To empty the tank:

  1. Gently pull out the water tank from the front of the unit.
  2. Carefully empty the collected water.
  3. Slide the empty tank back into the unit until it clicks into place. The dehumidifier will resume operation.

6.2 Continuous Drainage (Drain Hose)

For continuous operation without emptying the water tank, you can use the included 39.4-inch (6.56 ft) drain hose. To set up continuous drainage:

  1. Locate the continuous drain port on the back or side of the unit.
  2. Remove the rubber stopper (if present).
  3. Connect one end of the drain hose to the port, ensuring a secure fit.
  4. Direct the other end of the hose to a suitable drain location (e.g., floor drain, sink, bucket), ensuring the hose is sloped downwards to allow gravity drainage.

7. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your dehumidifier.

7.1 Cleaning the Air Filter

The dehumidifier is equipped with a washable filter. A dirty filter can reduce efficiency. Clean the filter every two weeks or as needed:

  1. Unplug the dehumidifier from the power outlet.
  2. Locate and remove the air filter (typically at the back or side of the unit).
  3. Wash the filter with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly.
  4. Allow the filter to air dry completely before reinstalling it. Do not use a dryer or direct heat.

7.2 Cleaning the Water Tank

Clean the water tank periodically to prevent mold and mildew growth:

  1. Remove the water tank as described in Section 6.1.
  2. Wash the tank with warm water and a mild detergent.
  3. Rinse thoroughly and dry before placing it back into the unit.

7.3 Exterior Cleaning

Wipe the exterior of the dehumidifier with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.

7.4 Storage

If storing the unit for an extended period:

  1. Unplug the unit and empty the water tank.
  2. Clean the air filter and water tank.
  3. Coil the power cord neatly.
  4. Store the unit in an upright position in a cool, dry place.
