4. Setup and Installation
Important: The installation of this mini split AC system requires specialized tools and knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical wiring, and refrigerant handling. For safety and optimal performance, installation should be performed only by certified HVAC professionals.
Your professional installer will perform the following key steps:
- Indoor Unit Placement: Selecting an appropriate location for the indoor unit, ensuring proper air circulation and drainage.
- Outdoor Unit Placement: Positioning the outdoor unit on a stable, level surface with adequate clearance for airflow. The outdoor unit is designed with chassis electrical heating for reliability in extreme cold weather conditions.
- Line Set Connection: Connecting the copper liquid and air pipes between the indoor and outdoor units. This includes proper flaring and torqueing of connections to prevent leaks.
- Electrical Wiring: Connecting the communication wire and power supply to both units according to local electrical codes.
- Vacuuming the Line Set: Evacuating air and moisture from the refrigerant lines using a vacuum pump to ensure system integrity. This is a critical step for system efficiency and longevity.
- Refrigerant Release: Opening the valves to release the pre-charged R32 refrigerant into the system.
- Drainage: Installing the drain hose to ensure proper condensation removal from the indoor unit.
