Setup Guide

1. Initial Charging

Before first use, fully charge the built-in 5000mAh battery using the provided USB cable. Connect the cable to the charging port on the camera unit and a standard USB power adapter (not included). The charging indicator will show progress.

2. App Download and Installation

Download the companion app (e.g., 'Birdfy feeder' or similar, refer to packaging for exact app name) from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android). Search for the app name provided in the quick start guide.

3. Device Pairing

  1. Open the app and create an account or log in.
  2. Tap 'Add Device' or the '+' icon.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the feeder to your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. Ensure your phone is connected to the same 2.4GHz network during setup.
  4. Power on the bird feeder camera. The camera will enter pairing mode (indicated by a specific light pattern or voice prompt).
  5. Scan the QR code displayed on your phone screen with the bird feeder camera. Hold the phone approximately 6-8 inches from the camera lens until you hear a confirmation sound.
  6. Once connected, name your device and complete the setup process.

4. Mounting the Feeder

Choose a location that offers a clear view of birds, receives ample sunlight for the solar panel, and is within range of your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. The feeder can be hung using the provided hook or mounted to a surface using screws.

5. Filling the Seed Container

Open the top lid of the feeder and fill the 1.2L container with your preferred bird seeds. Ensure the lid is securely closed to prevent water ingress.

Operating Instructions

1. Live View and Recording

Open the app to access the live video feed from your bird feeder. You can manually record video or capture screenshots from the live view. The camera automatically records when motion is detected.

2. AI Bird Recognition

When a bird is detected, the AI will attempt to identify its species. You will receive notifications on your phone with the detected bird's information. Review past detections in the app's history.
