4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Capsule and Coffee Powder Usage
The Cafelffe MK-609S supports various brewing methods using dedicated adapters.
Nes Original Capsule Adapter
- Place a Nes Original capsule into its dedicated adapter.
- Insert the loaded adapter into the machine.
- Select your desired water volume. It is recommended to use below level 2 for rich crema.

4.2 Brewing Modes
Hot Brewing Mode
Quickly press the ON/OFF button to enter the hot brewing mode. The indicator light will display in RED.
Cold Brewing Mode
Press and hold the ON/OFF button for 5 seconds to enter the cold brewing mode. The indicator light will display in BLUE. To switch back to hot brewing mode from cold brew, quickly press the ON/OFF button twice.
4.3 Programmable Settings
Temperature Regulation (85°C - 99°C)
- Long press the Coffee button for 3 seconds to enter the temperature regulation mode. The temperature indicator will flash.
- Click the Water Volume button to switch between desired temperatures.
- Wait for 3 seconds until the flashing stops, indicating the temperature setting is successful.
Water Volume Regulation
Click the Water Volume button to choose the desired water volume for your brew.
Customizable Pre-infusion Mode
Press and hold the Water Volume button and the Coffee button simultaneously for 5 seconds to toggle the pre-infusion function on or off. When the Coffee button indicator light is ON, pre-infusion is active (defaults to 3 seconds). When the light is OFF, pre-infusion is deactivated, and the machine will extract coffee directly.
Custom Energy-Saving Mode
Press and hold the Water Volume button and the Coffee button simultaneously for 5 seconds to enter the energy-saving adjustment mode. The Water Volume button indicator light OFF cancels the energy-saving mode, while ON activates it.
Restore Factory Settings
Press and hold the ON/OFF button and Water Volume button at the same time. The indicator lights will light up and flash twice, indicating that the machine has been restored to default mode.

5. Cleaning & Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning Needle Usage
Use the provided cleaning needle to clean the piercing pin on the Dolce Gusto (DG) adapters. This helps prevent clogging and ensures consistent coffee flow.
5.2 Washing Adapters
The coffee adapters can be washed with water. After washing, ensure they are thoroughly dried before re-inserting them into the machine.
5.3 Descaling Mode
Regular descaling is crucial for maintaining machine performance and longevity. It is recommended to descale every 3 months.
- Fill the water tank with water and add a descaling agent (not included).
- Insert an empty adapter (without any capsule or powder) into the machine.
- Place an empty cup under the dispenser.
- Press and hold the Coffee button first, then press and hold the ON/OFF button for 5 seconds. The machine will beep twice.
- Once the Coffee button and ON/OFF button lights are lit up, press the Coffee button to activate the descaling function. The descaling process takes approximately 120 seconds.
5.4 Pump Pipe Usage (for long-term storage)
If the machine will not be used for a long period, use the black pump pipe to pump out any remaining water from the internal circuit.
- Insert the pump pipe into the water entrance.
- Fill water into the pipe.
- Inject the water from the pipe into the machine until the internal circuit is filled with water. This helps prevent internal components from drying out.
