5. Setup and Installation

Proper installation is crucial for the efficient operation of your portable air conditioner. Follow these steps carefully:

5.1 Positioning the Unit

• Place the unit on a flat, stable surface.
• Ensure there is at least 20 inches (50 cm) of space around the unit for proper airflow.
• Avoid placing the unit in direct sunlight or near heat sources.

5.2 Window Kit Installation

The window sealing kit is designed for most standard sliding and single-hung windows.

1. Assemble the window slider kit to fit your window opening. Extend or retract the panels and secure them with screws.
2. Open the window and place the assembled window kit into the window frame. Close the window firmly against the kit.
3. Attach one end of the exhaust hose to the unit's exhaust outlet.
4. Attach the other end of the exhaust hose to the window kit adapter.
5. Ensure all connections are secure to prevent air leakage.

5.3 Power Connection

• Plug the power cord into a grounded 3-prong electrical outlet (115V/60Hz).
• Do not use extension cords or power strips.

6. Operating Instructions

Your portable air conditioner can be operated using the control panel on the unit or the included remote control.

6.1 Control Panel Overview

• Power Button: Turns the unit ON or OFF.
• Mode Button: Cycles through Cool, Dehumidify (Dry), and Fan modes.
• Up/Down Buttons: Adjust temperature settings (61°F-88°F / 16°C-31°C) or timer duration.
• Speed Button: Selects fan speed (Low, High).

6.2 Operating Modes

The remote control provides full functionality from a distance. Ensure the remote is pointed towards the unit's receiver when pressing buttons.

7. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your air conditioner.

7.1 Air Filter Cleaning

• The air filter should be cleaned every two weeks or more frequently depending on usage and air quality.
• Turn off and unplug the unit before cleaning.
• Remove the air filter from the back of the unit.
• Wash the filter with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and allow it to air dry completely before reinstalling.
• Do not operate the unit without the filter.

7.2 Water Drainage

The unit has a self-evaporative system, but in high humidity conditions, the internal water tank may fill up. When this happens, the unit will stop operating and display an error code (e.g., "FL" for Full Water).

• Turn off and unplug the unit.
• Place a shallow pan or tray under the drain port at the bottom rear of the unit.
• Remove the drain plug to allow water to flow out.
• Once drained, replace the drain plug securely.

7.3 Storage

If storing the unit for an extended period:

• Drain all water from the unit.
• Clean the air filter.
• Run the unit in Fan mode for a few hours to dry the interior.
• Unplug the unit and coil the power cord.
• Store the unit in a cool, dry place, covered to protect it from dust.
