Please read and understand all safety warnings and instructions before assembly and use. Failure to follow these instructions may result in injury or damage to the product.

  • Load Capacity: Do not exceed the maximum load capacity of 400 pounds (181 kg). Overloading can cause structural failure and injury.
  • Assembly: Exercise caution during assembly. Some parts may have sharp edges. Keep small parts and hardware away from children and pets to prevent choking hazards.
  • Stability: Ensure the chair is placed on a flat, stable surface before use. Do not rock or stand on the chair.
  • Moving Parts: Be aware of the linked reclining mechanism. Keep hands and fingers clear of moving parts when adjusting the backrest and footrest to prevent pinching.

4. Assembly Instructions

Assembly typically takes approximately 30 minutes with two people. While the process is designed to be straightforward, careful attention to detail is recommended. Lay out all components on a soft, clean surface to prevent scratches.

Tools Required:

  • Included Allen Wrench (I)
  • Phillips Head Screwdriver (not included, may be needed for some fasteners)

Assembly Steps:

  1. Identify Parts: Refer to the 'Package Contents' section and the product dimension image to identify each component. It is crucial to distinguish between left and right frame pieces.
  2. Product dimensions of the GAOMON recliner chair

  3. Assemble Main Frame: Connect the left and right main chair frame sides (A) using the appropriate crossbars and hardware from the Hardware Pack (I). Do not fully tighten bolts until all connections are made.
  4. Attach Seat Base: Secure the Seat Base (C) to the assembled main frame. Ensure proper alignment before tightening bolts.
  5. Install Backrest and Footrest: Attach the Backrest Assembly (B) and Footrest Assembly (D) to the main frame. Note that the backrest and footrest are designed to move in sync. Ensure the reclining mechanism connects properly.

5. Operating Instructions

Adjusting the Recline Position:

The GAOMON Outdoor Recliner Chair features an independently adjustable design where the backrest and footrest move in sync. To recline:

  1. Locate the recline lever or button on the side of the chair (typically on the right armrest).
  2. While seated, push the lever/button and lean back to recline. The footrest will simultaneously rise.
  3. Release the lever/button at your desired position to lock the recline. The chair can recline up to a maximum angle of 150 degrees, providing a near-flat position.
  4. To return to an upright position, push the lever/button and lean forward.

Using the Flip-Up Table Tray:

The integrated flip-up table tray is located on the outer arm of the chair, perfect for holding drinks, snacks, or small items.

  1. To deploy the table, gently lift the table surface upwards. A pneumatic piston will assist in its smooth movement.
  2. Ensure the table is fully extended and stable before placing items on it.
  3. To retract the table, gently push it downwards until it locks back into its stored position.

The table dimensions are approximately 9.5 x 10.3 inches.

6. Maintenance and Care

Proper maintenance will extend the life and appearance of your GAOMON Outdoor Recliner Chair.

  • Rattan Frame: The PE rattan is designed to withstand outdoor elements. Clean regularly with a soft cloth dampened with mild soap and water. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and allow to air dry. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Close-up of the grey and beige PE rattan weave

Image 6.1: Detail of the durable PE rattan weave.

  • Cushions: The removable cushions are made of olefin fabric, which is waterproof, fade-resistant, and wear-resistant. For minor spills, wipe with a damp cloth. For deeper cleaning, remove covers (if applicable) and hand wash with mild soap, then air dry. Do not machine wash or tumble dry. Ensure cushions are completely dry before reattaching to prevent mildew.
  • Steel Frame: The internal steel frame is powder-coated for rust resistance. Inspect periodically for any signs of rust or damage. If scratches occur, touch up with rust-inhibiting paint.
  • Hardware: Periodically check all bolts and connections to ensure they remain tight. Retighten as necessary to maintain stability.
  • Storage: During off-season or prolonged periods of non-use, it is recommended to store the chair in a dry, covered area to protect it from extreme weather and extend its lifespan.

7. Troubleshooting

This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your recliner chair.

  • Issue: Difficulty during assembly, unclear instructions, or unlabeled parts.

Solution: Carefully review the 'Package Contents' and 'Assembly Instructions' sections. Refer to the product dimension image (Image 4.1) to help identify parts by their shape and size. Ensure all hardware is sorted and matched to the correct steps. If you are unsure about a step, try to visualize the final structure or refer to product images for guidance. Assembly with a second person can significantly ease the process.

  • Issue: Missing hardware or damaged parts upon arrival.

Solution: Before starting assembly, perform a thorough inventory check against the 'Package Contents' list. If any items are missing or damaged, do not proceed with assembly. Contact GAOMON customer support immediately for replacement parts.

  • Issue: Chair feels unstable or wobbly after assembly.

Solution: This often indicates that bolts are not fully tightened or parts are misaligned. Go back through the assembly steps, ensuring all connections are secure and all bolts are tightened evenly. Ensure the chair is on a level surface.

  • Issue: Reclining mechanism is stiff or not moving smoothly.

Solution: Check for any obstructions around the mechanism. Ensure all assembly bolts related to the backrest and footrest are tightened correctly but not overtightened, which could impede movement. A small amount of silicone-based lubricant can be applied to pivot points if needed, but avoid oil-based lubricants that can attract dirt.

  • Issue: Cushions feel slippery or shift during use.

Solution: While the olefin fabric is designed for durability, some slipperiness can occur. Ensure cushions are properly seated and secured with any ties or straps provided. Anti-slip mats can be placed between the cushion and the chair frame if persistent.
