5.3. Installation Steps

1. Turn off the cold water supply to your sink.
2. Disconnect the existing cold water line from the faucet.
3. Mount the filter head securely under the sink in a convenient location. Ensure there is enough space to access the filter for future replacement.
4. Connect the water supply line to the inlet port of the filter head. Use PTFE tape on threaded connections to prevent leaks.
5. Connect the outlet port of the filter head to your faucet's cold water inlet.
6. Insert the AP217 filter cartridge into the sump and then screw the sump onto the filter head. Hand-tighten only.
7. Slowly turn on the cold water supply and check for leaks. Flush the system by running water through the faucet for 5-10 minutes to remove air and carbon fines.

6. Operation

7. Maintenance

7.1. Filter Replacement

The filter cartridge should be replaced every 6 months or sooner if you observe a noticeable drop in water flow, which indicates the filter is becoming blocked. The AP217 cartridge is designed for easy replacement.

1. Turn off the cold water supply to the sink.
2. Place a towel and bowl under the filter housing to catch any residual water.
3. Unscrew the sump from the filter head. If it is difficult to remove, gently tap around the housing.
4. Remove the old filter cartridge.
5. Clean the inside of the sump and the filter head area, removing any sediment or buildup.
6. Apply silicone lubricant to the O-ring of the new cartridge.
7. Insert the new AP217 filter cartridge into the sump.
8. Carefully screw the sump with the new cartridge back onto the filter head. Hand-tighten only. Do not overtighten, as this can damage the cartridge nipple or housing. Tighten until snug, then turn the water on slightly to check for leaks. If leaking, tighten a quarter turn more until leaks stop.
9. Slowly turn on the cold water supply.
10. Flush the system by running water through the faucet for 5-10 minutes.

8. Troubleshooting
