1. Important Safety Information

  • Diving Training: This product is intended for use by individuals who have received proper training in scuba diving and emergency procedures. Do not use without adequate knowledge and experience.
  • Pressure Limits: Do not exceed the maximum inflation pressure of 20MPa (200 BAR / 3000 PSI). Over-pressurization can cause the tank to rupture.
  • Depth Limits: The 0.5L scuba tank supports a maximum diving depth of 98.43 ft (30m). When using the snorkel tubes for direct breathing, the maximum recommended depth is 32.81 ft (10m). Always dive within your certified limits.
  • Air Quality: Only fill the tank with clean, breathable compressed air from a reputable source. Do not use industrial air or oxygen.
  • Usage Duration: The 0.5L tank provides approximately 5-10 minutes of underwater breathing, depending on individual breathing rate and depth. Monitor your air supply constantly.
  • Pre-Dive Checks: Always perform thorough pre-dive checks on all equipment, including tank pressure, regulator function, and mask seal.
  • Emergency Procedures: Be familiar with emergency ascent procedures and how to handle out-of-air situations. Always dive with a buddy.

3. Product Overview

The VEVOR 0.5L Portable Scuba Diving Tank kit is designed for emergency air, backup air, and recreational shallow diving. It features a compact design and a versatile breathing system.

3.1 Key Features

  • Compact Breathing System: The 0.5L tank provides 5-10 minutes of underwater breathing at a maximum depth of 98.43 ft (30m).
  • 180° Full View Mask: The anti-fog, leak-proof mask offers a wide, unobstructed view.
  • Integrated Camera Mount: A sports camera mount is located on top of the mask for hands-free recording.
  • Durable Construction: The tank is constructed from aviation-grade aluminum, providing pressure resistance and corrosion protection. The mouthpiece is made from food-grade silicone.
  • Flexible Assembly: The mask includes two removable tubes for snorkeling. It can be used with snorkel tubes for surface breathing or connected to the tank for underwater use.

4. Assembly and Setup

4.1 Mask Assembly

  1. Unpack the full-face mask and inspect for any damage.
  2. Attach the snorkel tubes to the designated ports on the mask for surface snorkeling. Ensure they click securely into place.
  3. Alternatively, for scuba diving, attach the regulator assembly from the 0.5L tank to the mask's breathing port. Ensure a tight, leak-free connection.
  4. Adjust the mask straps for a comfortable and secure fit on your face, ensuring a proper seal.

4.2 Tank Inflation

The 0.5L scuba tank can be inflated using one of three methods. Charging tools are sold separately.

  • Supplementary Adapter: Connect the tank to a larger scuba tank using a supplementary adapter. This method is typically fast (approx. 10 seconds).
  • Air Compressor: Use a high-pressure air compressor designed for scuba tanks. Inflation time is approximately 10 minutes.
  • Manual High-Pressure Pump: Inflate the tank using a manual high-pressure pump. This method requires significant effort (400-600 strokes) and is suitable for situations where other options are unavailable.

Always ensure the tank is filled to a maximum pressure of 20MPa. Do not overfill.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Pre-Dive Checks

  • Verify the tank pressure is at 20MPa.
  • Check all connections for leaks.
  • Ensure the mask fits snugly and creates a proper seal on your face.
  • Test the regulator by taking a few breaths from the tank before entering the water.

5.2 Underwater Breathing

Once underwater, activate the scuba tank by opening the valve. Breathe slowly and deeply. The mask's one-way exhalation system helps prevent CO2 buildup.

  • Duration: The 0.5L tank provides approximately 5-10 minutes of air. Monitor your air gauge frequently.
  • Depth: Do not exceed 98.43 ft (30m) when using the tank. For snorkel tube use, limit depth to 32.81 ft (10m).
  • Ascent: Always ascend slowly, exhaling continuously, to avoid lung overexpansion injuries.

5.3 Using the Camera Mount

Attach a compatible sports camera to the mount on top of the mask to record your underwater activities hands-free. Ensure the camera is securely fastened before diving.

6. Maintenance and Storage

6.1 After Each Use

  • Rinse all components thoroughly with fresh water to remove salt, sand, and chlorine.
  • Pay special attention to the regulator and mask, ensuring no debris is lodged in the breathing mechanisms.
  • Allow all parts to air dry completely in a shaded, well-ventilated area. Avoid direct sunlight.

6.2 Regular Inspection

  • Inspect the tank for any signs of corrosion, dents, or damage.
  • Check the mask for cracks, tears in the silicone, or damage to the lens.
  • Ensure all O-rings and seals are in good condition and replace if worn or damaged.
  • The food-grade silicone mouthpiece is designed to be crack-resistant, but inspect it for any signs of wear.

6.3 Storage

  • Store the scuba tank in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Store the tank with a small amount of pressure (approx. 100-200 PSI) to prevent moisture ingress.
  • Keep the mask and other components in the provided carry bag to protect them from dust and damage.

7. Troubleshooting

This section addresses common issues you might encounter.

  • Mask Fogging: Ensure the mask is clean. Apply an anti-fog solution before use. The mask features a unique air circulation design to minimize fogging; ensure proper exhalation.
  • Water Leaking into Mask: Re-adjust the mask straps for a tighter seal. Ensure no hair or foreign objects are caught under the skirt. Check the silicone skirt for tears or damage.
  • Difficulty Breathing: Check the tank pressure. Ensure the regulator is fully open and free of obstructions. If using snorkel tubes, ensure they are clear of water.
  • Tank Not Holding Pressure: Check all O-rings and connections for proper seating and damage. Ensure the tank valve is fully closed after filling. If the issue persists, seek professional inspection.
